REPORT: Steve Reed reports "the Panthers are still interested in" Jimmy Garoppolo

This really confuses you... 🤦‍♂️🤣

Why a team would trade away 3 first rounds picks to replace their good 29 year old QB and why he is STILL available in late May? Yeah it’s not confusing, it’s because he is overpaid for a below average QB. No team is eager to trade away assets and take on his full contract. Similar to Baker right now. He is heading to his 3rd team by age 30 IF a team actually trades for him. Teddy 2.0

According to you, this is the same team that passed on Brady.  Now you think they're smart.  Make up your mind.

They wanted to roll with Jimmy that year and after another year of letting them down they became eager to move on. It’s really not hard to follow. It obviously was the wrong move in hindsight just like Mitch to the bears. It doesn’t mean they are smart just they realized their mistake. They weren’t going to get any better with Jimmy at QB. We did it with Teddy and Sam. Teams chose the wrong QB all the time. Hell even the Jets did it with Sam and we traded for him. That turned out great… You on the other hand are wanting their mistake on our team.

Oh God....Baker?

Sizzlebuzz supporting Jimmy was likely to doom that scenario anyway 😄

Thing about Mayfield though is that we're not the only team reported to have interest in him.

As an aside, there's apparently a story that he and his wife recently visited somewhere in the general vicinity of Seattle. Mind you, that doesn't constitute a definitive connection to the Seahawks.

Or, they are continuing to make mistakes.    They overvalued Lance.

That doesn't mean moving on from Jimmy is the wrong move.  Lance is an unknown in which no team knows more about him than the Niners.  You have a strange notation that if a team makes one mistake they are destined to make mistakes over and over again.  I mean the Patriots made a mistake in not signing Brady what he thought he was worth right?  We made one in trading for Sam so I guess trading for Jimmy would be us continuing to make mistakes as well...

Jonathan Alexander's comments on Garoppolo (from the article posted in the other thread)...

Garoppolo’s recent shoulder surgery, as well as his injury history, is a far greater concern for some within the organization. The Panthers want no part of his $26.9 million salary, and the 49ers haven’t shown a willingness to take to carry those payments in a trade.

    • I think Caleb is a massive bust waiting to happen. He is supremely talented but yeah, he seems like he's a really bad mixture of very cocky and also mentally fragile. There WILL be bumps in the road at the NFL level. There's gonna be games where you just go out there and get your ass kicked. I'm not sure if he's built to handle that. People think I hate Bryce and I don't. He seems like a really good dude. I just don't think he has the physical talent to be a high level NFL starting QB.
    • Said before, why do you do a major revamp and skimp at C? I think you finish the job. Corbett is unknown to us as a C, and usually you’d trust professionals to assess, and act if necessary. I like Morgan and he isn’t making me rethink that so far, and I think if one they really like is within reach they will make that move. I personally feel like it is a more important to cover that position than what amounts to another WR lottery ticket. And Young, in my mind, sort of puts a ceiling on what you can take advantage of. It isn’t racing on the interstate with him, it is city racing from stoplight to stoplight.
    • I will say this, as a luke warm to cold Bryce guy....I'd much rather pull for Bryce Young vs having to pull for Caleb Williams.  Caleb seems mentally weak, idiotic, and unable to lead a team of grown men do to being a mega clown.  Bryce just lacks the Madden created tools you want your QB to have and likely is going to resemble Eli's leadership more so than Peyton's.  And the brothers got the same rings in the end off both styles.
