I think its like week 7 or 8 usually. Someone generally goes down before then. They have options and even if they do release him- he could go a different route (teams that aren't interested may take a second look cuz in effect he's being paid by Cleveland and so would most likely sign cheaply). he may be willing to backup Brady (or anyone really) for a couple more M. plus my browns check.

Yeah, I think the Browns are also potentially trying to keep him out of the division, so cutting him this year may not be preferable.

They decide he's terrible and yet want to keep him off of division rivals... that would be a Browns-esque decision indeed.

Personally I don't give a poo what they do with Sam, as long as he never, ever takes another snap as the starting QB of the Panthers.

You better give a poo because with Matt Rhule still being the Coach, it's almost a guarantee that Sam Delusional takes another snap as Starting QB.  🙄

I read this as "we know Sam is trash and all options will be exhausted before we he ever starts a regular season game again".

Or "Sam will be our starting QB because I said so....buuuuttt....if there was a better option we can acquire, I'm down with it"

They would have to be idiots to sign Baker.

You don't earn three straight five win seasons by making smart decisions. They're desperate to save their jobs. They're not going to rely son Sam Darnold and a 3rd round rookie to do it.
