That is the greatest report I have ever heard in the history of ESPN.

*ESPN ALERT*

Some fat woman suffered a bruised foot following skirmish that boiled over into the stands today at Patriots/Panthers practice.  Sources say woman was morbidly obese and holding the now discontinued Choco Taco when incident occurred.  More at 6pm.

Based on the description in the above comment, that was no fat lady.  Kelvin Benjamin was apparently at practice today.

Weird to me slightly because he has the mythical final say over the roster. Why even roster the guy if you don’t like him. There were and are plenty of other depth options at FS. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Yeah, but sometimes you'd rather deal with a problem you know than one you don't...  It's pretty evident he doesnt prefer him over guys like Franklin who have played a similar role.  Robinson has been cut multiple times and stashed in the PS, then brought back.  And everytime he has seen the field, he has seemed to make big plays.  And IIRC, the official website ran an article later last season after he finally got an extended look and more snaps whete Rhule admitted he was playing great and that he shouldve been given more snaps/opportunities before.  And I want to say he described him as a guy with starter ability...  I also think he made the comments about BC having should've been given more snaps in that same article.

So Rhule has acknowledged the guy is good, has and does make plays for us whenever he is given the chance to, yet, he never seems to want him in that position to do so.

They also worked rookie Cade Mays more at center on Wednesday. He's taken some snaps in the middle throughout camp though most of his work has come at guard. He's a versatile player, and that helps his chances of making the 53-man roster.

Interesting.  I was just telling a friend last night, with the disclaimer that I know it's preseason and we've only played one game, but Mays looked outstanding and we may have gotten a steal with him.  He was mean, nasty, and finishing blocks with bad intentions against WAS.  From what I saw, I can see starter potential, and a very good starter at that...  although I thought it would be at guard, that would be amazing if he could step up and secure the center spot away from Elflien while Bozeman is out.  I believed and thought that Bozeman would be the starter, but Rhule's reluctance to put him ahead of Elf, and the seeming emergence of Mays seems like right place at the right time kind of stuff.  It's also a sign of a great team on the come up...

Yeah I know it was against 2nd/3rd string but I'd put Mays and Pleasants above Jordan/Erving asap. They looked like they actually knew what they were doing and wanted to do it.

I had a similar conversation he seems to have it for a Olineman. He’s played there before if we can coach him up I could see him being a gem of the draft helping us solidify a solid well above average oline.

All in all seems like a good day.

The team stood up for CMC. WIN

Someone pushed a Patriot but gave him a soft landing spot. WIN

The fat woman got the most action she's likely had in a while.  WIN

When asked about the the limp, she gets to say, "Yeah, it's an old football injury." WIN

Lots of analysts had Mays as a first round pick going into this season, and its not like he played poorly at Tennessee last year.  We very well may have getting a gem.

We passed up another late round UT OL Trey Smith over health concerns that turned out pretty good.  I believe Mays was fighting through injuries last year, but his brother is also on the team and his dad played OL for UT as well back in the day.  (I live in Knoxville).

So.....

Horn looks like a top 10 pick.

Baker might be A Dude.

Darnold proved he is who we thought he was.

Might have some playmakers at WR.

OL could be suspect.

DL could be suspect.

Secondary might be nasty.

We will fight any MFer out there.

Anything else from the Pats practices I am forgetting?

CMC? There was that tweet yesterday about him having his way with the Pats' defense.

Yeah, that's pretty much the same as the BB being a douche quote. That is something that is expected.

CMC's ability shouldn't really ever be questioned. His ability to stay healthy, however.......definitely.

He never stopped being the best dual threat RB in the NFL. He just stopped being healthy enough to play on Sundays.

Yeah, I had considered making a comment about him only being available for 4-5 games but decided against it.

Yeah, sadly he just cannot be counted on to play a full season and perhaps not even half a season.

But we are better suited to "replace" him in the lineup than we were.

Ultimately the biggest flaw in Rhule's plan of having a "run first" team is that our franchise RB isn't capable of staying healthy. The second biggest flaw is that we aren't sure we have the OL to dominate in the run game.

The latter issue MAY be somewhat solved. The former is unlikely. We will just have to see what happens in 2022.

    • Calling an offensive trip on the attacking down team in the playoffs seems like bad refereeing.
    • Try quoting me bud. “R.J. iSn’T oFfIciAllY BACk”… he’s back, no need to even argue this. Powell is a defensive specialist and that’s it right now, I’ve watched the majority of his HS games. Anyone thinking he’s going to come in and be a starter right away is out to lunch. He’ll eventually jump Withers but any true Carolina fan knows good and well that Hubert won’t start him right out of the gate. And the fact that we’re in on Thiero and were in on Aidoo is a obvious sign that Hubert is trying to upgrade that position. There was absolutely no reason to be a dick but yet you decided to have a breakdown. Editing to add Powell’s scouting report that literally lists his offensive game as being a work in progress (https://247sports.com/player/drake-powell-46116213/). And as for the transfers, UNC already has multiple CB’s for Tyson and are likely to land Omoruyi. Thiero and Brea are up in the air.
    • I’m honestly finding it tough as hell to project us. I have my favorites this year but they don’t really align with what I think we do.being predictive, I’m thinking about who we pick more than who I like and trying to reconcile that potential selection. I.E. - Big fan of Newton DT, Barton IOL, Frazier C, Sainistril CB, Polk WR, Kneeland ED/DE, Pearsall WR, Melton CB and a few others.. but it’s just kinda tough to figure out for this team. We’ve got a ways to go but I feel like they never lean towards the guys I like.
