Shi Smith, Rashard Higgins make waves in wideout competition

Recommended Posts

Smith has looked good every time he’s been given a shot both reg season and preseason. Just put him on the active ahead of Marshall, Zylstra, Saunders, etc.

Moore-Anderson-Higgins-Smith-Zylstra, just IR Marshall at this point. He unfortunately seems pretty close to bust

If Shi has another good return game he'll probably seal the deal. One IR issue is if you do it before 53 man cuts they can't return during the season

Smith can really cause problems for other teams.  He catches everything and his has great speed and quickness.

One of the things that stuck out to me watching him in college was how good he seemed to be at catching in traffic. That, combined with his quickness, could be deadly

Honestly, I'd have Anderson on the block. I think we've got an obscene amount of talent in our WR corps, and either we will end up having to cut a young stud with huge breakout potential, only to watch them shine on another team, or we could try to move our WR #2 for a position of need like LB or C.

Brother check his dead cap #, https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/robby-anderson-19352/

Hate to break any "trade/cut" robby talk, but with that insane number he will be a panther this year.....

I think we could do without Anderson if Smith could fill that role of speed on the outside.
