Baker through 2 games

Lots of plays like this. I mentioned in GDT that a lot of McAdoo’s concept BS leaves Mayfield with nowhere to go with the ball

We could’ve draft Justin Herbert and we’d be wanting an upgrade at QB

Rhule needs to go.

Only McAdoo was willing to accept this job because no one else was dumb enough to take it

Also this is the only OC position McAdoo could ever hope to hold again. He will never be a OC again after this season. The dude is just as trash as Rhule and Snow. Rockstar OC!

The browns were not the worst team in the league his rookie year, that was the year before, some of you guys are dense AF.

Baker is what he is, nothing special. He is not going to lift your team into contention by himself and we do not have the talent or coaching to help him with his shortcomings.

He WAS TRASH in Cleveland thats why they traded away their future for a sexual predator who will miss 11 games this season .

I sure as hell dont get the step forward thinking with the group of braindead idiots we have running our O.

The last place team drafted him.  They were literally the worst team in the league when they drafted him. My point is they were not a good team when they drafted him.  Bottom of the league.  A team that had struggled to make the playoffs and have any sort of stability with Hugh Jackson as their HC drafted him.  He broke rookie records and looked solid.  He sucked under Kitchens and looked good the following year.

Why would Cleveland not just draft a QB?  Throw away 3 first round picks and give $250 million to a guy who is a sexual predator and will miss 11 games??  Think about it.  Watson has a ton of talent and franchises like US, the Falcons (who lost Matt Ryan over it), and the Saints were willing to go all in on this player.

Like I said he is average IMO.  Average can't outplay bad coaching/schemes.  I assumed average was better than Darnold and McAdoo (who was an ok OC) would be a step up from Brady/whoever filled in when he was fired.

That assumption is what I have problems with. His raw passing numbers have never been better than Darnolds, in fact they have been worse, but he has been in a better position than Sam throughtout his career.

They are the same type of QB, streaks of looking great surrounded by tons of terrible play.

Baker could win 10--11 games in the right situation, like if he was traded to the 49ers, for us we will be lucky to win our annual 5.

That’s kind of what I call average. You can win with them under the right coaching/schemes, but they won’t carry a team. Jimmy G would be one as well.

I disagree with the Darnold comparison though. He has never been able to secure the ball and read a defense. Not at USC, NYJ, or here. His numbers got worse with time in the pocket and he is a turnover machine.

Yikes. Yeah he hasn't shown much.  Hasn't single-handedly ruined games but I don't see a mutli-year contract worthy guy.  We're looking at Bryce/Stroud (or Levis/VD/McCall/Hall/Ward/etc.) as our next experiment at QB.

Nah we will just draft another bust DT

Without watching all-22, I feel like our WRs just can't get open. This seems to have been a problem for years. Besides Ginn and Smitty, we really haven't had anyone recently be able to take the top off of the D or get open with finesse moves consistently.

I think it's more excuses. I know that Darnold just refused to get the ball out on time because I watched him.  I haven't seen Baker as much, but I know that he's done it at least once.  Baker needs to step up into the pocket and throw. He needs to work on timing and making his reads. I seriously have a hard time believing that receivers who were getting open for years have simply forgotten how to get open.

Maybe it's a scheme thing, but routes are pretty much the same everywhere.

@TheCasillas reviewed the All-22 for Week 1 against the Browns and his evaluation was that WRs were getting consistently open all game (DJ Moore and Shi Smith in particular, IIRC).  We're all eagerly awaiting his analysis of the Week 2 tape (*nudge nudge*).

McAdoo also setting him up for failure. He has 4 years worth of tape showing he shouldn't be a traditional pocket passer.

Baker has his problems BUT McAdoo isn't making anything easier. The offense is 31st in at the snap motion, 29th in pre-snap motion; & Bottom 1/3 in play action The route concepts are bland

So 3rd OC 3rd QB we've brought in and we are still amongst the worst in the entire league. It's Rhule.

I want Sam back.. No I’m not joking or being sarcastic. He has more extensive knowledge of the playbook and we have a healthy cmc and slightly better O line than last year. Bet anything Sam will be starting next Sunday

He's done here get over it.

    • I think Aho/Jarvis are a bit of a red herring. They always go in spurts but there was reasons Jarvis was dropped off one when his production slowed/disappeared. Perhaps playing with Staal has fixed some of those tendencies for Jarvis but we’ll see. If 1 can’t sustain a forecheck TT > Jarvis for 1. Even if it is a high flying line right now. In the playoffs we need forecheck with a dash of high flying generation, not the other way around.
