I get your point, I really do, but teams in the nfl dont miraculously change their MO 4 games into the season.  What they have in place is what they are running with and after 3 games it aint pretty.   We need to score points to win games and what we are doing fundamentally isnt that.  We can debate about why that is but the larger point is our offense is complete poo.

Yeah, I really don't so much care about how terrible we are. That's pretty obvious but even bad and terrible teams can still win games. Same with the other 31 teams in the league.

Hence why I say it's literally too early. That's a last 8 or 9 games discussion when the quality tiers are a little more fleshed out.

When you're almost certainly not going to make the playoffs and look to have no future for the coaching staff, QB position, and very possibly GM I don't think it's ever too early to think about draft position. It's all we have to root for.

See above. I just don't really invest a lot of thought into it for those reasons and also....we don't even know what the draft is really gonna look like because the college games are still being played. The hierarchy of the elite players is still in flux too.

It's just.....too early to really worry about that. That's a week 9 or 10 hindsight discussion.

This is the nfl, bad teams do win, thats why I have had us pegged for 5/6 wins since the season started.  After 3 weeks I can confidently say this is a 5/6 win football team.  Seattle is probably a 3ish win team.  They are bad.  We will find out next week what zona is. They have had a tough schedule so far but they look way out of sorts.  As for NO I have no idea wtf they were thinking trotting Winston out there when he was struggling to throw in the late first half.

The NFC South looks like it might be pretty bad. TBD. I could see NO rally if they bench Winston to let him get healthy. Atlanta I am just not sure what to think about. I believe they are a bottom 5 team but I could also see is losing two games to them.

I had an ATL fan at my house yesterday so I had them on one of my tvs.  And for the 3rd week in a row those dudes are gritty.  There is an obvious lack of talent but for whatever reason Smith has them playing hard.  Its obvious.  Is it sustainable as the losses mount, probably not but right now they are playing their asses off.  If they can get pitts to wake up then who knows how good that offense can be.  Seattle just looked inept on a couple of crucial drives.  I think that was their plan all along was to "tank" with Geno to get a qb.

That Achilles injury completely changed him as an athlete. Won the McD AA slam dunk contest in HS and I can't recall him ever dunking a ball in college.

I think he ended up having three Achilles ruptured before he finally hung up the cleats.

I will never forget an insane touchdown pass he threw against Virginia where he had someone rushing him dead to rights. All in the pocket he jumped forward and back, like he was crossing someone up, and bought just enough time to throw a forty yard strike. It was a basketball move in the pocket. Just insane.

His shot was so bad that when he'd shoot free throws they'd show his footballs stats lmao.

Here's what I know for sure. Higher draft position puts you in a better position to land better talent. You still have to maximize that opportunity but you're going to have more options available to you.

Here's what I'm pretty certain about. We're not making the playoffs and Rhule and company are getting fired.

I said going into this year I'm rooting for either wild success or abysmal failure. I've seen enough to know which scenario is most likely.

Haven't we been beating Arizona pretty consistently no matter how bad our teams  have been since 2017 ended?

Would not be  suprised to win next game as well.

49ers Rams and Bucs after that might he a little ugly though.

When was the last time they beat the Panthers? 2013??

A record of 2-5 after that stretch seems like a reasonable expectation.

You can tell how traumatized and depressed some folks are. They can't be happy because we might lose again next week or the week after. Which might be true and it is the reason actually to be happy. Since we don't know the future even though folks predict the worst you have to enjoy the present and enjoy what good comes along.  If we are going to go 3-14 why not enjoy the 3 wins. And heaven forbid we go on a roll and actually play better and win more. But for all those who can't enjoy the win I hope you change your attitude. Seems rather pointless to stay negative the whole time. But to each their own.

Same thing I always say to comments like this - objectivity is not the same as negativity.

I don't think I've ever been more sad by a Panthers win.

But I think yesterday was a fluke.  Jameis couldn't physically take advantage of this crap team.  I don't see another win on the schedule anytime soon.  The Falcons, maybe?  But they have looked better than us.  Cardinals and 49ers gonna thump us.  Rams, Bucs, Bengals gonna thump us.  So I wouldn't worry.  Abysmal failure is still on the radar.

There's those of us that want the band aid ripped off quickly and those of you that think pulling it off slowly is going to make it somehow better.  Rhule is a sh!t coach, period.  Now, will he manage some wins?  Of course, there's some decent players on this roster.  But each meaningless win (we AIN'T going to the playoffs, let's not be delusional) takes us further down the draft board and gives Tepper cause to keep this fool around longer then most of us would like.

    • Any QB worth his weight in gold is going to get his guys the ball. Of course he has to have the protection, coaching and experience to do that. Moreover, it has yet to be determined what type of situation this is for a rookie wideout. The most important thing that will determine that is coaching.
