How does it feel ?

I saw this coming since 2013 with Gettleman, and I knew Rhule was going to continue the tailspin.

This has been in the works since Gettleman chipped away at the team that was built for 2013 and won in spite of him in 2015. A ton of leadership and talent on that team (Gross, Kaill, Wharton, Olsen, Smitty, Cam, DWill, JStew, Tolbert, Johnson, Luke, TD, Anderson, Addison, Captain, Norman, Blackburn, Beason, and Mitchell) was widdled down by 2017. Gone too were Beane and McDermott. In came the new ownership who followed up the Gettleman fiasco with this Rhule implosion. The years of Gettleman and Rhule have left this team with nothing to stand on now. The Panthers had the foundation for a dynasty of 10 to 20 years of success. Yes, it may have been hot and cold until McDermott and Beane took over, but the pieces were all in place. Shows you how 2 really bad decisions on leadership with Gettleman and Rhule can put a team into a 10 to 20 year tailspin.

The Panthers do have the pieces in place for a miracle turn around, but they will need one of the best coach/gm combos to pull it off.

To think, we had all those revered Panthers names here and still couldn’t make back-to-back winning seasons.

Those were grown men that you listed. The guys we have now are little boys compared to them. (Figuratively, I know they are literally older)

This is a pretty weird kick everyone while they're down thread, and that's coming from someone who also isn't dedicating time or care into this team (as in myself).

I think we all know the answer to how it feels, and if you aren't sure, click a thread, any thread it's clearly filled with despair here...and plenty of overreaction.

Fiction can be fun.

    • Calling an offensive trip on the attacking down team in the playoffs seems like bad refereeing.
    • Try quoting me bud. “R.J. iSn’T oFfIciAllY BACk”… he’s back, no need to even argue this. Powell is a defensive specialist and that’s it right now, I’ve watched the majority of his HS games. Anyone thinking he’s going to come in and be a starter right away is out to lunch. He’ll eventually jump Withers but any true Carolina fan knows good and well that Hubert won’t start him right out of the gate. And the fact that we’re in on Thiero and were in on Aidoo is a obvious sign that Hubert is trying to upgrade that position. There was absolutely no reason to be a dick but yet you decided to have a breakdown. Editing to add Powell’s scouting report that literally lists his offensive game as being a work in progress (https://247sports.com/player/drake-powell-46116213/). And as for the transfers, UNC already has multiple CB’s for Tyson and are likely to land Omoruyi. Thiero and Brea are up in the air.
    • I’m honestly finding it tough as hell to project us. I have my favorites this year but they don’t really align with what I think we do.being predictive, I’m thinking about who we pick more than who I like and trying to reconcile that potential selection. I.E. - Big fan of Newton DT, Barton IOL, Frazier C, Sainistril CB, Polk WR, Kneeland ED/DE, Pearsall WR, Melton CB and a few others.. but it’s just kinda tough to figure out for this team. We’ve got a ways to go but I feel like they never lean towards the guys I like.
