many people will disagree, but getting that many picks for a single player is a solid haul. CMC is awesome but what we got in return for him is equally awesome. Especially with the direction the NFL is going away from single superstars to skill set depth.

Yea I mean are we overlooking the fact he just wanted out of this garbage franchise? His GF gonna be happy to never have to come to Charlotte ever again. He never belonged on the Panthers

Who was going to give it? We can wish all we want, but if a contending team saw him as the true missing piece, they would've coughed the 1st up a long time ago to get him, either in the offseason or early on this year with their offense struggling. I think people got delusional, CMC is great but is oft injured. The 49ers basically opted out of the 2023 NFL Draft, to our benefit. How is that a loss? Holding onto him for the sake of holding on to him because no one would give us a first is a fireable offense as well. That is the sunk cost fallacy that a lot of people seem to have on the board tonight. This trade makes us better in the long term. They're tanking the season, and to make us look good for future coaches, we need draft capital and young players. We had one but not the other. Now with one trade, we have both. It's not over either, there will be more moves.

Not all picks are equal.  Getting nearly a 3rd rounder as your top pick for CMC is not "a solid haul"

Guess I'll pull out my Steve Young jersey size small from 1998. Will have time put it on my 5 year old. 

Seriously though. CMC was the only likable thing about this team since Cam, Kuechly, Davis, and Olsen left. There isn't a player I give a poo about left. Literally, there is no one. No iconic guys. No potentially iconic guys.

We are the Lions.. fml
