A Corral Reminder

There is 0% chance Corral is starting next season. This coping needs to end. What you think of him doesn't matter; a new coaching staff isn't going to build around a last regime pick. You have a better chance of getting a time machine and bringing in 25 year old Cam Newton.

And Cam wasn’t a Cam

these anti-QB people simply rewrite reality to accommodate why THESE prospects just aren’t good and if we just wait one more year, we promise for real this time, prepare the roster, everything will be great

i don’t know how many first round hits at peripheral positions followed by a bad season these people need to see before they stop obsessing over the “can’t miss” prospect who we just can turn down

The perspective of wanting to just roll with Corral+a JAG scrub are no different than those wanting BPA+[insert their "sleeper" QB pick] in the draft.  You're getting a 2nd-4th round QB prospect either way and neglecting the very thing that's preventing us from winning outside of a legit coach.

There's no issue rooting or being hopeful for Corral, I do take issue with those making him out to be some type of plug-in starter next year and drop in some Brian Hoyer with him.  He's nowhere close and may never be with now essentially a year removed and no good coaching to grow under while injured. He's basically a developmental 3rd string.

Those wanting Corral+JAG scrub will be the same people whining about not selecting a Stroud or Young if they turn out to be something.  In 2 years they're asking "where can we find the next Young? How do we keep missing out??", meanwhile, dissing every top prospect in that future draft, pining for their next can't miss mid/late rounder of Carson Strong/Ricky Stanzi significance.

Honestly, if you want to help maximize our chances at the position, go the RGIII/Cousins route--take Young/Stroud and then a Ward/Tune/McKee later.  Keep swinging, don't settle for what we have when what we have is honestly more uncertain than half of the prospects in the draft given how shut out he's been and will be a year removed from the field.

well you’re mostly right except they’ll be saying “I just don’t see a Bryce young in this class, let’s just wait a little longer”

and will also probably claim that they were actually fine with taking Bryce, they were just misconstrued.

Pretty fair updated QB rankings. Still not sold on Stroud but he is the safe/boring pick for 2nd best QB. Levis ranked QB #7 where he deserves after being mocked to go #3 overall for no reason last week

By far the biggest blow to our '22 season was Corral being out for the year. We had a feeling Rhule and Co. would not make it through the year. To have Corral out there right now taking his lumps and seeing if he has potential would be so helpful.

If somehow we miss out on Young/Stroud and end up gambling on Richardson, Corral could have a shot. It might not be the new regime's "guy", but Corral would have a year of film room and being at this level over Richardson, who is probably a two-year project.

No, IDGAF if you don't think Corral is our future. He's getting better, and he will be in the mix regardless of rather you like it or not. For those taking a definitive stance on Corral based largely on Rhule's ineptitude, you will eat crow. You will eat crow.

Corral (foot) is no longer in a walking boot as he continues to recover from his September surgery, ESPN's David Newton reports.

Corral will still miss the 2022 season, but his current progress from the Lisfranc injury he suffered during the preseason could set him up for a relatively healthy offseason. As someone the Panthers traded up to select in the third round of this year's draft, Corral represents a significant long-term piece for the franchise, which presently carries quarterbacks Baker Mayfield (ankle), Sam Darnold (ankle) and PJ Walker all on expiring contracts. Although a first-round quarterback selection is certainly a possibility next spring as the team sits with a [now 2-6] record at the moment, Corral at least offers an investment to carry over at the position.

Love this kid. Can’t wait!!
