Based on what?

What exactly makes Wilks better. Both coaches are over .500 in regular season. Wilks isn’t even close. I don’t particularly want either coach but not sure how you can say that with a straight face. Absolutely no statistics back up your claim. So are you just going off your gut?

So, they are interviewing the Tom Moore offensive circle (Jim Caldwell, Frank Reich). Expecting to see Freddie Kitchens, Marc Trestman, and Byron Leftwich next. Interesting how these offensive minds developed under Tom Moore have history with Steve Wilks and Al Holcomb as their defensive counterparts. Tom Moore currently is with Bruce Arians on the Buccaneers payroll.

Leftwich, Wilks, Christensen seems to be the direction this is going.

Tepper and his youth during the 70s and 80s watching those Steelers teams is apparent. Tepper wants a Tom Moore offense and a Tony Dungy defense, and it would not surprise me if he has been consulting with Dungy. Tepper continues to talk up and secure the coaching mentors of Byron Leftwich.

Wilks is .500 in the games he's coached this season but carry on.

Does Ben Johnson have an association there? Tepper has apparently had high interest in him as well.

Not Dungy/Moore Steelers line. Joe Philbin/Mike Sherman for Ben Johnson. Same line as Zac Taylor and Dan Campbell. The closest connection to Johnson would be McAdoo via Philbin. McAdoo and Philbin had a coaching relationship.

I guess but why not Ryans?  What are going to learn from Caldwell?

Ryan's might be busy with niners for a while.  Plus he might have more interest in another job.  So best to get those boxes checked early

Pretty much all of Johnson's pre-Lions resumé was spent with the Miami Dolphins. That is, except for three years (2009-2011) when he was working at Boston College.

Some kid named Kuechly was on the roster there at the time.
