Sam had a rough game but has not yet mastered throwing through completely covered receivers to move the chains.  But I agree, we need to move on.

Sam is terrible and the folks who have been sucking his dick for weeks about how he’s the perfect bridge QB will stand far away from those comments and deflect about how they’re upset with Wilkes for winning, draft position, and all that poo.

Yeah.   I want to see what he's got.

So my thinking is the following :

1.) Re-sign Sam to a 2-year deal at BACKUP MONEY

2.) Draft AR

3.) Start Matt Corral

 

That way we can see if we have something (caught lightning in a bottle) in Corral but if not, we bring Sam in the rest of the way, let AR sit and learn the NFL game and its speed (and maybe give him a start at the end of the season, paving the way for him to start full-time the following season...and that's IF he's the guy).

Best hope for Sam is to be picked up by KC for their practice squad 3rd string QB and sit for a year or two.  Short of that he'll probably wash out of the NFL in the next year or so.

Sam is a backup in the NFL. He has played better than I thought possible but at the same time, proven he is not a starter in the league.  
I wish him well though.

This is a great way to ensure we have 3 QBs with no starter.

He didn't do much to improve his outlook today. I am sure he will land someone but not for big money.
