Care is not that bad of a idea no matter what an we draft at 9 he will not be ready day 1

You guys must love mediocrity?

Repeating the same steps over and over and expecting a different result.

We Need A Franchise QB! Not A Vet Bridge QB!

It's amazing how people keep bringing up these names. Carr is taking this team nowhere.

You also dont want to ruin who you draft. Its best to have  rookie and vet and if the rookie isnt ready, have the vet play until he is.

The team trading draft capital for Derek Carr would be an unmitigated disaster and would show that neither the front office or the new Head Coach have learned from their numerous past disasters.

A bridge QB is fine but the plan 100% needs to be find your QB in the draft and get him, that is the single most important item on the list right now and will determine a lot of our future.

Tepper is clearly frustrated by the rotation of Quarterbacks in and I would be astounded if he hired someone who was telling him we should do the exact same thing.

Go get a Brissett that knows the system and would be comfortable being the backup from Day 1 if it turned out like that, but dont trade draft capital or spend big money on another refurb QB when that was the cause of so much pain for all parties involved.

I trust that he along with Fitt, Morgan and the scouting department can find a qb for the future of the franchise. I think that qb will be Stroud

I think we get Stroud at 9. Young be pick #2 & another team will fall in love with Levi’s. This would be an ideal scenario saving our draft capital with a potential move back to late first. round.

Which is why I was such a big fan of Steichen -- he has experience developing Herbert and Hurts. Herbert was picked high but was by no means a unanimous top QB choice and we could get a similar caliber prospect around 9 or maybe with a smaller trade up. Hurts was a 2nd rounder and many were not high on him at all pre-draft.

Same, although I had a brief affair with Ben Johnson.

However, I give Reich about a 40% chance of busting, Steichen I wouldn't have had that much hope for success....however if he did succeed, the highs would be higher.

I think Frank can bring some consistency, and I'm guessing that Tepper is ready for some of that.

    • I don't think we should look at this rebuild position by position. That'll take many years.  Football isn't played that way. It's the ultimate team sport. Pass rush is not dependent on one player or position. Pass coverage is not dependent on just the secondary. Passing is dependent on the entire oline and your receivers. Rushing is not dependent only on the running back.  They've addressed every major area. That's all you can ask for. Make good decisions during the draft, and then it's the coaches turn to put it all together.
    • It's tough. Yet again, such a huge roster flip. 10 starters added via FA/Trade - LG, RG, WR, TE, CB, S, ILB, (2) OLB, & (1) DL And then, whether internal moves/promotion/coming off injury, our starting C, TE, and other ILB (Shaq) will be different from last season. So we're looking at 13 new starters for a 2-15 team.  Losing Luvu stung a bit, but the rest were all understandable moves.  I am whelmed.  Without knowing results, it's a B for this team mid-reconstruction. Problem I still see--I don't know how we're going to generate offense with our current RB & Receiving rooms.  Dionte is a good addition but we still have no one to really become the "dude" on offense.    We're still pretty sparse and needing the Kyren, Achane, St. Brown, Collins, DeVonta type addition that could help this team do something, anything on offense.  The player that can help truly define an offense if you don't have a QB that's a top-level playmaker.     The good news is that I think we have a OL that will be able to pave lanes for that type of threat, we just need to land one now.
    • That is Morgan's supposed job. Get Canales and Evero the folks they want while fitting it in the cap.
