NFC South Division being weak next year could influence trading up for a QB this year?

With how weak the division looks to be next year and the Panthers possibly having an easy path to the playoffs do you think that will affect the front offices decision to trade up this year for a QB? The 19th pick is the lowest pick for a playoff team. Will Fitterer take this into account and value our future 1st round picks less thinking we will win the division easily next year. If we do not trade up for QB this year the price may cost a lot more to trade up if we win the division next year.

It’s not a bad question to ask. This and next years’ first and second to move up and get Stroud? Hell yea. Throw in a player if we need to, hell throw in Burns if for no other reason to satisfy the whiners still bitching about not taking the Rams offer earlier. Could be argued to be similar value if it gets us out QB.

I mean, this year it was pretty easy. Came down to not leaving backup CBs on an island with Mike Evans.  Someone couldn’t figure that easy path out and we missed the playoffs.

This season was an anomaly. That's rarely going to happen in any conference. In other words it was a fluke.  You go into a season assuming every team you face is going to be a juggernaut and you will have to fight tooth and nail every single game.

I don’t disagree, but next year seems like it’ll be another anomaly. The Bucs window is done. The Falcons are a joke on the same level as the Rhule Panthers. The Saints, IF they find a QB, are the only real threat and even then the Panthers without a QB are still a better team than the Saints without a QB so they’d have to find a better one than us. Cuz they ain’t out-coaching us.

I'm not buying that just yet. Things can change quickly in the offseason.

Trading up for a QB in the draft is a death blow for the current HC. If they find a franchise QB, chances are better that the QB stays when Reich is fired and the next coach inherits a developed QB they can build around before a championship is won. Expect a decade before a move like this pays off in the Panthers current situation.

There is no reason why we should be settling for bridge QB's anymore. That only leads to mediocrity and being in position to not get a true franchise QB.

Tepper has to sell out for Young or Stroud. No more waiting for some average vet QB to chase. This franchise desperately needs a franchise QB.

Im going to be disappointed if  we don't end up with Young or Stroud.
