I was thinking the same thing. Besides, Reich should be the one making this decision, or at least have a ton of influence.

He, Fitterer and the scouts will set the rankings for sure. From there they will have to see what the chances are of getting the guy they like the best and where he is probably ranked on other boards. Then the next stepis to set plan B, C, etc., etc. It's an involved process with a lot of moving parts.

Wondering what kind of compensation it would take.

This years’ swap, both seconds and next years’ first and possibly second - minimum.

Which I’d be in favor for. If it’s 2025’s first as well, I’d be hesitant but anything less, pull the trigger.

If the scouts are all in agreement, get it done.

Could also add a player in to keep from touching the 2025 pick, which again I’d be in favor for.

I didn’t always think this way but I firmly believe high value coaches and players cringe seeing Tepper, his wife, and Rhule’s hired GM. Clearly this team is going no where without trading some value for someone, no worthwhile FA is coming here.

It needs to be correct and calculated and I would prefer it be in the draft.

Normally I would hesitate as well, but it is time to get this done.

No

This team still has too many holes to give up that many picks to move up for a guy that isn't anything close to a sure thing, particularly with how deep next year's QB class is.  If one of the top 3 falls to us, or if we can move up a couple of picks without giving up our 2nd's this year or 1st next year, then you do that.

But anything else just isn't worth it with this class, next year should have at least 2 if not 3 QB's who would be rated above any QB in this year's draft, and another couple who would all challenge to be top 10 picks this year.

I'd so much rather fill our holes this year, then next year trade away multiple 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks as needed to move up for a much better QB prospect.

Yeah... nah.

The track record of Ohio State QBs in the NFL is a long one. And a laughable, lamentable one. And even if we just narrow it down to recent times they've produced Justin Fields, Troy Smith and Dwayne Haskins -- two complete busts and one guy the Bears are talking up in hopes of trading him to some sucker team.

Let's move on.

Now do USC. It's not pretty.  We recently had living proof.

    • Many times the best deal is the one you have.  This team has  2 top 40 picks with a draft full of talent and a team full of holes.  Whatever they do they should not squander the opportunity that is sitting in front of them.  Best you can hope for is that they don’t overthink it.
    • Space eater isn't our biggest need. But I see a value to good to pass up after his boneheaded DUI during the draft process. I assume this moves him completely out of the second round maybe pushed into the 4th. I would be hard pressed to not pull the trigger in the 3rd round somewhere.  At 6'4 366 I would love to insert him day one and just really be done with Shy tuttle who is just a jag. This guy would be an upgrade and one small mistake of partying to hard doesn't indicate a everyday problem. This kid can't be blocked 1 on 1 and just allowed texas to stop the run of his strength. he bats down a ton of passes and i would consider him a value getting a almost first round talent that late in the draft. what say you?
