Will depend on the QB play. Y’all have Marvin Harrison Jr at WR and Henderson at RB that when both are healthy are basically unstoppable. This could have been Quinn Ewers season to shine had he not run off to Texas.

God, Ewers looked completely awful in the couple of Texas games I saw this year.

QB C.J. Stroud Growing As Favorite To Be The No. 1 overall Pick In The 2023 NFL draft

Jeff Risdon Draft Wire
Fri, March 17, 2023 at 8:03 AM EDT

The Carolina Panthers have not yet declared which player they’re targeting after trading up to land the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft. However, the sportsbooks have a clear and growing suspicion that the Panthers will select Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud with the first pick.

The latest odds update at Fanduel sportsbook lists Stroud as the most likely pick by the Panthers. Stroud is currently -220 to be the top pick, up from -120 a week ago. Bryce Young remains the No. 2 option in the odds at +250, followed by Anthony Richardson at +350.

It’s a little different at BetMGM, where Richardson is ahead of Young in the odds to be the top pick. Stroud is an even bigger favorite there; the Buckeyes QB is -250, while Richardson checks in at +300 and Young is +350.

Okay if I put $1000 on Young what's my profits...I don't normally gamble and where can I place my bet.

Think about this. Fitterer came from Seattle where he had Russell Wilson. He’s quite undersized and had an amazing Seattle career. If rumor is true Tepper likes Bryce Young as well, it just makes sense he will be the guy especially if he shows out at his pro day. The size thing. Y’all are overthinking it.

and why should we be excited? A Russell Wilson in his prime was fun to watch and Bryce young is a lot like him in my opinion. Our version of him could be even better. That will be must watch football. Let’s be honest all of you would take Prime Russell right now…

People are gonna call me crazy but hey. Check my last posts. I always get poo’d and yet I’m always right. I said last YEAR WE SHOULD TRADE CMC AND DJ MOORE for the highest capital possible because we just weren’t gonna get it done with them due to other circumstances. Called that. *shrugs*

Bryce young will be the pick.

Fitterer isn't coaching...

Honestly, I like Young because he seems to have that "clutch" gene that a successful NFL QB needs. I watched a QB breakdown on AR on YouTube, a good one too. To me, he has a ton of upside and is a physical specimen. Can throw the ball out of the stadium, but to me it's less about arm strength and physical ability than it is to consistent accuracy, pocket presence, and just having that it factor in tight moments of the game. He is Cam Newton 2.0. Stroud shows some of that clutch gene, but nowhere near as consistently as Young. I watched a bunch of 'Bama' games (my father is a huge Tide fan) and saw so many moments when Alabama was down, or the momentum started swinging to the opponents advantage. Then suddenly, Bryce Young rallies his guys and starts making big time throws in tight windows at the most crucial moments to put the Tide back on top. It happened so many times. I even told my father that this guy has that Brady/Mahomes ability of just will the team back into the game. That is something that is not coachable, you either have that will, leadership, and ability, or you do not. We saw a little of that with Jake Delhomme (I said a little), and to a degree, with Cam. To me, that is the immeasurable variable that separates great QB's from JAG's, the "in the moment" ability to bring out the best of yourself and your team to stay in the game. I understand the size issue brought up about Young, that being said, management should make a priority of having a top 5 O-line every year, that would help. Drew Brees was a tiny QB and one of the best ever. Plus, QB's are protected more in todays NFL. Bottom line, and sorry for the long post, I feel like that's what the Panthers have needed in a QB for the longest time... just simply, that big time playmaker QB in big time moments CONSISTENTLY.

You MUST check ALL boxes as the #1 pick. Otherwise it's a gamble and a fire able one.

No CJ isn't Young or Richardson. What he is, is the safe spot in between those two extremes.

He compares favorably to both Richardson and Young but Young and Richardson couldn't be more different.

So supposedly all this smoke screening is for a trade but in my opinion it doesnt happen. I think texans would be perfectly fine with Stroud IF we took Young. Panthers are gonna have to pick whoever their top guy is.

Was talking to a Texans beat writer and they pretty much said the same thing. Bryce is preferred, but they are not going to throw a fit if they have to sit there and take Stroud.

I don't think there's anyone in this draft that checks all the boxes. Young has the size questions. Richardson and Levis have the production questions. Stroud has the system questions and dealing with pressure questions. There's no Andrew Luck or Trevor Lawrence type in this draft. But that doesn't mean there won't be an All-Pro QB. Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, Burrow, Hurts... they all had serious questions coming into the draft. Didn't ultimately matter.

@LinvilleGorgeSo basically, what you're saying is that each QB has his own Pros and Cons.

So the question remains :  Which of these QBs will Reich be able to fix any issues they have?

One issue that can't be fixed....is HEIGHT and unfortunately, Bryce has that issue.

I'm a lot more concerned with his weight and frame than I am his height.

I've come to terms with Young or Stroud and can make a case for either one.

If the Panthers could put Young's brain in Stroud's body we'd have the best of both worlds.

As it is, Young's mastery of the game could make him the most entertaining QB in Panthers history.  Biggest concern is size and durability.  Panthers could be back in the market for a franchise QB in less than 5 years.

Stroud is less entertaining, but his throwing motion is pristine.  CJ could end up being the best throwing QB in Panthers history.  CJ is built like a prototypical franchise QB.  Panthers might be set at QB for 10 or more years.

Bottom line:  Young's candle may burn twice as bright and last half as long.

You summed it up nicely with one qoute: ("Bottom line:  Young's candle may burn twice as bright and last half as long.")
