It's happening right now and I'll try to get the vid here soon but apparently Cowboys and Broncos were in the Mix but ultimately the Panthers made him feel at home and he said that: One, he felt that a championship would be a major reason he signed and that carolina feels like that type of team, and 2 the Full swing golf machine near his locker. 

 

Basically Carolina made him feel like he was wanted.

i could see that. that's kind of what Fitt was saying Reich was talking to Thielen about. it wasn't "we want you here because you catch balls." It was "we want you here because we think that you would bring a lot to this locker room and in the building of this team." they valued him more than just being a pass catching commodity.

i think we'll be seeing a lot of that kind of thing happening. that reputation for valuing the player and not just the game is going to spread.

One day when I win the lottery I will have a complete Full Swing Pro set up in my home.  Damn that thing is SICK.

My company actually built their software and procured the hardware 🙂 

It was an awesome project to be able to support.

Yeah and also added that he felt good having Dalton there, that him being there played a huge part as well. Apparently they know each other well and their wives are really good friends.

What a difference.  Rhule could have said the same thing and it would have fallen to the floor with a thud.  Reich has the integrity and credibility so, it is meaningful from his lips.

So happy to see that we have real adult supervision in the clubhouse, and players see it and respond to it.

i think initially there were a lot of people that bought Rhule's BS, but it didn't take much time before everyone started seeing it as just that...unless they were with him in college. they drank the koolaid early.

Posted this in the Thielen thread but for those that missed the interview:

Came here for a chance to win, believes we are building towards winning a super bowl and he wants to be a part of building that offense. Expects immediate success. Looking forward to being a teacher for the other guys. Reiterated SEVERAL times the goal is to win a Super Bowl and he expects to contend here.

He is healthy and feels great. Finished the year healthy, was able to hit the ground running on off season workouts. (I did not know this but he owns his own protein bar, a couple gym franchises) Claims to be in best shape. He and his family comes out tomorrow to officially sign and get the lay of the land.

We have a golf simulator 10 feet from the locker room, said that was awesome to see and something that did actually encourage him to sign. Said if they wanted to recruit him the two things we could have done to "roll out the red carpet" would be a golf sim in the locker room and a cold brew waiting when he walked in the door. We were 1/2 lol.

Team did NOT say who we are drafting although he asked and pushed hard but they would not budge. There were additional teams pushing to sign him, two that were mentioned by name were Dallas and Denver. A hang up for some of those teams were his age and would only offer a 1 year deal.

Originally did NOT plan on visiting. Only reason he even agreed to come out was the large amount of respect he has for Frank Reich. Said he has long admired him and his offense. Went on to praise his vision for building an offense, a staff etc.

Said there are a COUPLE other WRs we are attempting to sign and he has gone full into recruiter mode. Gave props to our signings so far. Praised the signing of Andy Dalton and his existing relationship with him and said Andy being here "a huge part of the decision" to sign as well as praising Sanders and Hurst signing.

All in all he seems like a great dude. I'm excited he is part of the team.

      Any QB worth his weight in gold is going to get his guys the ball. Of course he has to have the protection, coaching and experience to do that. Moreover, it has yet to be determined what type of situation this is for a rookie wideout. The most important thing that will determine that is coaching.
