More Smoke? Adam Schefter: CAR traded for Young, then checked other QBs. They did not bridge gap.

I just want us to draft the guy the consensus within the organization seems as the best QB prospect. Ultimately, it's their jobs on the line. They're all getting fired in a couple of years if this dude busts and we're right back here again.

Right, can’t play scared. Draft the guy you feel best about, support him with personnel, scheme, and coaching and let’s see if he’s got that. I do feel like this staff seems more capable of that than the last time we had the number 1 pick but they still gotta land the right guy..point blank it’s just hard to to know who that guy is otherwise the mahomes’, Allen’s, Brady’s would’ve been drafted number 1

How does coaching fix being 5'10" and 185lbs?

Brees had to crane his neck to see over the OLine and he admitted he was still throwing blind to the middle of the field. He was 2 inches taller than Young (and no less athletic).

Folks will realize pretty fast this experiment is a huge mistake. I’m not surprised at all by the fact they may be seriously considering picking him, it is after all Teppers chosen crew and we all know Tepper has yet to make a solid decision.

Who are we smoke screening? Ourselves?

If you haven't noticed, there are certain huddlers that believe all the Young talk is nothing but a ploy to get the Texans to trade draft picks and give the Panthers another first rounder. It can't possibly be real interest or that the Texans were blowing smoke when so many rumors had them interested in Young weeks ago.

There may not be a dumber franchise owner right now than Tepper. He did hire Rhule and so far we have zero proof this latest staff is any improvement.  On paper it might be, but as for players chosen and win totals we have no idea and I’m not so sure Reich is going to be any better than the Fox and Rivera’s that everyone now rags on.  Actually I’d bet $20 he won’t be better.

What does your feelings about Tepper and Co have to do with people believing the Panthers are trying to trick the Texans?

Can’t wait until Bryce is officially announced as our QB. Last jersey I purchased was Cam’s #1. Next purchase will be BY’s.

Same…I am buying a Young jersey…if I see a white jersey that is mine.  Personally love that clean white stitched look

    • Even if Corbett works out at C, having a long term plan and back up is important. I just don't see how you let a C pass you early in this draft. Hopefully one of the top 3 picks. Years of this, we all know how important it is to have an oline. Cannot win without a good one. You have to always been looking for upgrades and backups who can start when someone goes down.
    • We will know more after the draft, I assume.  But I see your points.  As a former OL coach for a few high schools, I have a very basic knowledge of OL play.  However, I was saying all season that Campen was not doing a good job because there were signs.  Ickey's lack of mechanical development, missed assignments, and head spinning.  Head spinning is when you have no idea where your block is coming from--film study and coaching should tell you, "If the DT stunts inside, maintain inside out gap control...If the LB takes a false step into coverage but keeps his head focused on the QB, he is likely on a delayed blitz..."  Just examples, but we were so easy to fool.  The A gaps were tremendously laughable last year.  Campen was to blame.  Having said that, based on what this article says, it seems Corbett is a film rat and maybe that will translate well.  The OL must communicate. I think we draft a C in the fifth round.  Calling it--the kid from Penn State maybe?
    • I have no idea how good Williams will be because I haven't bothered looking at any QB prospects this year because we have no first round pick and we have Bryce. All I know about Williams is that he's like the poster child Gen Z kid and boomers hate him for it. So I hope he succeeds, just not as much as Bryce and never against us.
