I'm fine with the pick. Honestly I wasn't that high on the kid but it was obvious the Panthers' organization was with him being a top 30 pre-draft visit. We made a big trade up to #1 to draft a QB and our offensive skill positions are lacking. Build around this kid.

I do believe there is still very good veteran free agents left after the draft. But signing those guys would be a win now mode. As much as I believe in Bryce, there is always a learning cure no matter what.

Haynes was third on the team in sacks with 5, behind Luvu (7) and Burns (12.5). He’s 29 and should be in his prime right now. With the new 3-4 the team may use him more as a standup rusher. This could make him more effective since ESPN is listing his weight at 235…which is awfully light for a 4-3 DE.

Hopefully he turns out fine but I looked at his 4 year stats from College and they were very underwhelming.  Was he often injured or something?
