This is a dumb take, Bryce may not be ready week 2 and that has no bearing on him as a player or the future of the franchise or its coach

Agreed.

That being said, Reich will likely be under a lot of pressure to start Bryce, but I hope he ignores it and does what he thinks is best.

Who cares about Dalton, he made a cameo  appearance in Nawlins, that is really trying to make something out of nothing

Now if we played the Bengals there would be more of an angle, you know, the team that drafted him and was there previous franchise QB

And it's really discouraging they think the focus will be on Dalton in week 2, if he is not holding a clip board on the sidelines , than Reich is another Fox/Rivera

Why would he be less ready week 2 than Dalton? They are both on a new team, learning a new playbook. A playbook designed for Bryce, btw, not Dalton. We drafted this guy in no small part based on his processing and preparation. If he’s less ready than Dalton, we’ve got problems.

Easy, Dalton is a 12 year pro and Bryce has no NFL experience

It's not about being safe, or about being reckless.

It's about making the decision that is best for the team.

There isn't a single fan that is qualified enough to even make an educated guess.

We have arguable one of the best football staffs in the NFL, trust in them.

Armchair coaches are never in short supply, despite there not a single job that pays for them.

Yeah, the same coach that was so clueless about QB he was on the phone with Rivers begging him to unretire , then he juggled Matt Ryan and Carson Wents as his starter, with mixed results , then he was canned

This coaching staff hasn't done squat, and you shouldn't trust them untill we get results , people acting like Reich is something, Riech is crap in my eyes untill he proves me wrong, the belief that things will be different here is what led to Rhule,Darnold , Baker, Cams horrible return, and now there are people already blindly defending him, when he hasn't done anything here

And if he doesn't start Bryce week 1, he is an old fashioned , do the safe thing, like Fox and Rivera, and if retread QB#4 fails, I will make more I told you so posts than I told you so!

I'm so glad you left nothing out of your scathing , negative view point.

You know how he gets ready, by playing, I thought we were done with the safe and cautious approach, I thought that's why people didn't want Wilks

Now we are OK with the player we have pretty much invested our immediate future in not playing, while a washed up journeymen QB is taking the snaps

You know what's cool about living in the past as you do? You are never wrong.

You know what's cool about living in the present? The uncertainty of what is to come.

You have a choice. Continue driving yourself miserable by being afraid the past is going to repeat itself. OR...you can join the present and enjoy watching what the future may hold.

But we already know which path you will take don't we?

I don’t see any path to Bryce not being QB1 for week one.  #1’s overall start.

I guess he could stink it up in the first quarters of preseason but Bryce looks like the real deal so that chance is slim

Even a mediocre preseason should be enough to go to QB1

Likewise for game two as no way they bench him regardless of result of game one.

    • My personal take- RB market is in the most unstable era. For one its very very low in cost and the talent available each year is 8-14 players most years. Not to mention all the cuts. Right now Id have drop all RBs a couple rounds. Just would not draft one cause a proven bunch is going for 5mill+/- each FA period. I am a huge TE fan, my goal would be to control the middle of the field. History shows rounds 3-5 is where to get one. I think the last 10 TE drafted in the first round only one has made a pro bowl and that was 30 year old David Njoku this past year. They are soooo undervalued, no other player has to block some 6'5 280 monster and on the next play run a deep post against some 4.2 speed water bug guy. I'd have two of the highest paid TEs and no one would know if its a pass or run. I don't like this years class, but always up to draft one......starting in the 3rd....
    • I'd do not understand that both verge and zod had a three year run of getting the 1st round pick right, then the first time they missed.......non-stop tard comments about the miss and they totally forgot the past three years. I know its near impossible to guess a 25th pick, but I remember shaq being his guess. Just insane the whole deal.
    • Im about 98% sure penix gos 15th-32nd in the first, jmo...I'd even bet on that too. Hes my weakness of boom/bust, if he figures it out......It would be scary for any team playing him.  I mean young has to get another year given all the BS and I totally get the the issue if he was there 33rd. Id draft him, but you'd HAVE to trade young before unless you'd want to de-value him by a few rounds. Top eight pick with the guaranteed penix would be at 33rd......ooo my the amount of should/if/etc....
