Best offensive mind in the 21st century says bye bye. Offensive tackles are just too athletic these days and do what a FB always did on swing plays anyway.

How soon will the Panthers join them? The last "big play" I remember a Panthers player doing was Mike Tolbert utterly sucking ass in SB50.

When will people realize the FB is basically just a extra TE.

 

Played both positions in high school. It's just a extra blocker who's athletic enough to also run routes.

Don't count out my man Gio Ricci, he was a TE in college and happens to be excellent on special teams

Alstott was also a receiving threat.

 

I remember the NFL 2k days. I would just put Alstott at rb and lead the league in rushing lol.

I can see Tremble playing a HB role, sort of a hybrid FB/TE Jack of all Trades blocking and contributing in the passing game.

Ricci is a very good receiving TE but he’s not a blocker.

FBs didnt disappear, they just combined with TEs. Several teams use TEs in the backfield.

Usually a shorter, stockier player than a TE, but yeah

I don't think I would qualify any of our tight ends from last year as very good receiving tight ends when they averaged .25 receptions a game
