Fitt just said in his presser that “it’s going to take a little time in the beginning but it should be a strong group closing out the year.” Gave the example of RW’s first year in Seattle and how it didn’t take off until game 8 or something.

So yeah, I think they understand what’s going to happen.

You don't trade future 1sts and plan on losing. What a poo show.

I think we can still win games early on though, this isn’t unexpected from Fitt to say but despite the somewhat disappointing preseason I still believe this team can and will win the division (and do so with a solid winning record, 10+ wins). 4-4 after 8 then 6-3 in the last 9 is my guess

I didn't really need anyone to lower my expectations. They were already low.

And honestly, I won't feel too bad if this season is mediocre. I remember we overachieved in Gettleman's first season as a GM. Some folks actually felt that set us back.

There's an argument to be made...

Yessir.  Bryce is going to win OROY.  Defense will finish 9th in the league in points allowed.  Passing game will be low-volume, but very efficient and few turnovers.  Panthers finish 10-7, good enough to win the division.

We will lose in the 1st round but it will be a close-outing and be enough to get Panthers fans more excited for the next season than ever before.

Except he didn't. That's documented.

What he's done though is act like a man and take ownership rather than just blaming somebody else.

In his post firing comments, Rhule did the exact opposite.

Idk - at the end of the day it’s a business and his reputation and career is on the line.  Why take the blame for endless failed draft picks (especially when the other guy happily blamed you) unless you had a part in it.  I get taking the high road and all, but it’s a sorry frog that doesn’t croak for his own Lilly pad. Especially when your reputation is on the line.

Im so sick of Tepper. This is clearly coming from him. Fitt is not the guy to blame we are in this situation because of Tepper. The expectations have always been low since he took over the franchise. This guy needs to sell the team.

Keep Pounding is no longer a thing in the Carolina's. Fans are saying the season is over before it even starts. This is our culture now. It's now cool to say we are years away from making noise.

2027 will be our year!

I believe the defense is going to be top 10 as long as we an stay healthy.  If we can stay in games with our D.  We have a chance.

Young, so they say, is a baller and if he can lead this team to a couple of late game wins we have a chance.

My prediction, Young wins Rookie of the year and we steal a wildcard spot.  Reich wins coach of the year too.

    • This thread really shows who the morons are, dude hasn't been around bryce for more than 24hours when this was reported and people with low iq still took it and ran with it. Glad to finally see people expose themselves.
    • Racism. I know it's taboo to discuss, but yeah it, it's racism.
    • Is right now the worst time in the history of Charlotte pro sports? The Hornets (formerly Bobcats) have been a dumpster fire since rejoining the NBA 20 years ago. The Panthers were a respectable but frustrating team before David Tepper bought the team, but now they are easily the worst team in the NFL. Charlotte only has 2 sports teams so it's unfair to compare to every other city in the country with a Big 4 pro sports team, because when you have all 4 of even 3, you tend to have one franchise that ends up being successful. If we're taking into account the Hurricanes and ranking NC's pro sports teams as a whole, the Hurricanes make everything look better in NC pro sports. But just taking into account cities with an NFL and NBA team, and excluding their respective NHL and MLB teams, in the last 5 years, Charlotte easily takes the crown for the worst city for pro sports. The only other city coming close is Detroit since the Pistons have been awful, but the Lions were in the NFC Championship last year and should probably have made it to the Superbowl if it weren't for some questionable coaching decisions. Indianapolis could be mentioned because the Colts and Pacers have had a somewhat rough go the last 5 years, but both the Colts and Pacers have had more recent success than either the Panthers or Hornets. Sadly enough I think the Panthers have a better shot at success than the Hornets since the NBA is structured more towards star player driven success and the NFL is a team driven sport where there is more parity year to year. But I'm fairly confident this level of misery will continue for some time.
