Jake Delhomme during our stretch run

After the Detroit game, many were concerned about the play of our QB during the upcoming stretch of 6 games against quality opponents. Here are Jake's numbers over the last 6 games.

89 completions in 137 Attempts for a completion percentage of 65%. His QB rating over those 6 games is 98. He has a relatively poor td to int ratio (4tds to 3int's) but most of our td's have come on the ground. Overall, I would say he played very well during our toughest stretch of games. And most importantly, 4 wins and 2 losses.

If he plays this well during the playoffs, we have a good shot at winning it all.

Count me as one of those that were concerned. He played pretty well though, and I am optimistic about our chances in the playoffs once again, provided he can keep it up.

The thing with Delhomme is that we don't need him to throw for a bunch of touchdowns. I couldn't care less if he throws for a TD or not in any game because our running game will get us those TD's. He just needs to be able to hit some throws when we need them, keep the chains moving, and most importantly not turn the ball over.

Truer words have never been spoken.

He's playing very well during the last few weeks. Every time he drops back to pass or play-actions, I don't even worry as much as everyone else in the huddle does for whatever reason. I'm pretty confident that he will make the right decision. Don't start calling me delusional either. I'm not claiming he's the best quarterback ever made, but I don't see why we all shouldn't trust him right now, he's been doing everything right lately.

I agree for the most part, but I do think that he has proven in the past that he can move us through the air if needed. He did it against Atlanta and San Diego this year. I feel confident that if some team stacks 8 in the box, Jake has the capability to make them pay for it.

His improvement through this seasons makes me wonder if he was still healing from the surgery at the beginning of the year. They say that it takes almost, if not more than a year to recover from Tommy-John surgey. If true, it would explain a lot. His play has gotten better for the second half of the year.

When the other team puts 8 in the box, that is the time I am referring to when I say he "just needs to be able to hit some throws when we need them".

For the most part when I have been critical of Delhomme, and you know I have been, was when he tried to force things to happen instead of throwing the ball away...and taking a sack or throwing an interception as a consequence. He's stayed away from that pretty well in the past 4 or 5 weeks and for most of the season. We just need him to play that way in the playoffs as well, and judging from his play, especially recently, I think he will.

I think it was just a slump after the bye week and just some badly-played games. He sure didn't look bad in the Chargers and Atlanta home game.

I like his fire and wonder somethimes if he isn't the best coach on the team. That cajun blood is baaaaaaad!

I know some jokes were made about it, but I do wonder if he is having to get use to having his arm at full strength. He sure did overthrow a lot at one point in the season.

    • Wide Receiver: Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers – 85.3 One of the more shocking developments of the 2025 NFL season has been the Carolina Panthers’ ascension to the top of the NFC South, which they achieved with Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers. Perhaps nobody has made a bigger difference than former eighth overall pick Tetairoa McMillan, who continued to be a steady presence in the Panthers’ offense. McMillan caught six passes for 73 yards and a touchdown in the win Tight End: Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers – 91.1 Evans only saw the field for 16 snaps, but he was efficient in his limited playing time. He caught all three of his targets for 23 yards on just six receiving snaps while also grading well in pass protection (72.2 grade) and as a run-blocker (68.4) Edge Defender: Nic Scourton, Carolina Panthers – 77.9 The former second-rounder out of Texas A&M has been a force along the Panthers’ defensive line, and he was a key contributor in Carolina’s huge win over the Buccaneers. Scourton recorded two stops as a run-defender and added another while in coverage. Scourton also tallied his sixth sack of the year while contributing another pressure to the mix Safety: Lathan Ransom, Carolina Panthers – 75.7 Another Carolina Panther on this week’s list, Ransom has typically been stronger in run defense — he carries an 85.2 grade in that field on the season. But Sunday against the Buccaneers was his best day in coverage. Ransom intercepted his only target, which wound up being the game-winner that put the Panthers in the driver’s seat in the NFC South
