Goalie Tracker

So I think especially with the TDL coming up in a month it’s time we start keeping track of who’s what and where.

Pyotr: Healthy but aloof and still seems to be exhibiting minor concussion symptoms.

Spencer: Healthy but only one GP.

Raanta: “Nothing serious” but out “a couple weeks at least” aka I doubt we see him before the TDL.

Freddie: 3 weeks+ out. I also don’t think we’ll see him before the TDL.

Perets: Killing it in the ECHL. But ya ECHL, we need to get him on an AHL team next year pronto.

Vondras: Locked in the Canadian Juniors league for the season.

So ya… we will be walking a tightrope for the next month at least if we don’t make a move at the TDL. But with Freddie’s return eminent I don’t see us making a big move if any. That of course is contingent on Freddie though.

Let's not forget both Raanta and Martin are both UFAs after the season, Freddie is under contract thru next season.

But, if we're talking goalies who may be available at the TDL because they have expiring contracts at the end of the year...

I'll start with all 3 Toronto goalies being UFAs: Samsonov, Matt Murray and Martin Jones. Murray has not played this season.

Brossoit (WPG), Rittich (LAK), DeSmith (VAN)

Still seeing rumors - Necas for Soros.  I say bad idea, unload KK and some picks and get a goal scorer

KK has a horrible contract that no one wants.  The canes aren’t trading any of their current rostered players. Picks and prospects, yes.   Necas is going no where. On a team that needs goal scoring, you can’t trade their guy with the 3rd most goals on the team.

The article said the reason for the trade is because Necas will be a UFA and the Canes think some team will outbid for him - Canes should keep him, he could become elite, not many guys with that break-away speed

    • Cant take him seriously because he likes Bryce sounds about right for around here
    • OK, let me first say that I can't get any Twitter link to embed--using "X" or "Twitter" or whatever, and I'm tired of trying. Now, I must say that I see Panthers stuff in Facebook on occasion as I'm part of some group, but I see Panthers stuff even less on the cesspool that is now X, but as a follower of the official Panthers Twitter, stuff pops up on that feed too. I guess that I shouldn't be surprised that agents of the organization would be putting out tweets like this: He's not even trying to be objective. It stands to make sense though. In order to get better information, you have to go to national sources like Kurt Warner.  I'm not necessarily trying to pick on J-Stew, per se, but I can't take him seriously, as even some past Panthers players, like Greg Olsen for example, don't seem like they're just trying to cater to Panthers Nation, just saying hollow words to make everyone feel good.  I just wonder why here on the Carolina Huddle, there seems to be more objectivity, or at least more critical thinking and serious discussion than most other social media sources on the Panthers. It's interesting. There is a significant difference.  For all the changes and the seeming decline in popularity to whatever degree, the Carolina Huddle still has its place and plays a big part in overall Panthers fandom. We want to be happy, joyous and cheer for the Panthers, but we aren't necessarily trying to shoot sunshine up people's derrières either.
