Seth Jarvis isnt even eligible for arbitration yet 🙄

Was talking about Necas going to Arbitration. Jarvis expected deal is around 6.75x7 unless they do a bridge deal for like 2X5 or so.

so if Jarvis signs his expected deal that leaves around 4m for Drury and Necas.

seems like Necas is acting like a pestilent spoiled brat, we have to sign Drury and this is gumming up the works - also looks like we now have to trade Necas for draft picks or fingers crossed get out of KK's salary

Yep we know pretty much that he refused to negotiate with Nashville. There was one other that was rumored and same thing, refused to negotiate.

from what I understand his agent is asking if he’s going to be playing top line and is looking for 7m a year.

Jack Roslovic signed

This does not bode well for Necas or Drury, I'm afraid. Roslovic was making $4M AAV in Columbus and NY the last 2 years.

Canes gotta unload someone to sign Jarvy, and I don't even know what Roslovic is getting from the Canes.

If they don’t bring up FUS, Nad and those guys then they have 14m cap space prior to the Roslovic signing.

I think a few of those come up though and it’s closer to 11m for top23.

That said Jarvy deal is looking like around 7m AAV for max length.

Roslovic is meh to me. Advanced stats show that he’s just kind of average at everything.

I’d try to move Kotkaniemi and put Roslavic on the fourth line.

Svechnikov - Aho - Jarvis

??? - Kuznetsov - Necas

Martinook - Staal - Fast

Carrier - Drury - Roslovic

Lemieux - Jost - Robinson

Nadeau - Unger-Sorum - Blake

Suzuki

Slavin - Burns

Orlov - Chatfield

Gostisbehere - Walker

Stillman - Morrow

Seeley - Coghlan

Kochetkov

Andersen

Martin

Roslovic played center more with the Rangers after they got him and he played better there than on the wing in Columbus. He also had a pretty decent post-season with the Rags.

8 pts in 19 regular season and 8 pts in 16 post-season games. Given he had only 39 pts the whole season...

But yeah, he's an expensive 4th line guy.

Yeah I don’t know where you put him other than the fourth line. He’s not a top six guy and ideally you’d put him on the third line but our third line is already set.

He may be Jordo's replacement answer, for the time being. I honestly thought Staal would retire after the season.

If they resign Jarvy, they have less than 4m in cap based on reports. They wouldn’t have enough to sign Necas, Drury, and Coghlan.

so they have to do something with KK or Kuz.

if they just sign Jarvis and Drury, think they have 2.75m in cap space.

hence my comment that they are done pending one of those to be moved.

I trust Adam Gold more than you just saying...

    • Dalton made the playoffs 5 straight seasons.  He was the #6 rated passer in 2022 (at least by PFF). Smokes & mirrors??? GTOH with that nonsense.  Dalton has always been a pretty good QB, and he's in a scheme now that obviously fits his strengths. And now playing behind an elite Offensive line, Dalton has unlocked DJ & XL into looking like a legit starting WR combo. He's 36 & still has plenty of tread left on the tires.  He is our QB, period, as far as I'm concerned. Absolutely nothing could be better for this franchise in the wake of Young's benching... and this is the best thing right now for BY9 also. I've never seen more of a positive turn around in the perceived trajectory of this franchise than over the past 2 weeks. I'm convinced there's a segment of this fanbase that has a pathological need for doom & gloom... Why can we not just be happy & celebrate the fact that we finally have a good offense that we should be able to sustain with this Oline group under contract together (all of them through next year) and some beyond that. Once we fix the defense, this will be the best team we've had post-Cam.
    • Darnold is legit bro. Jets/Panthers both had losing cultures when he arrived. Culture and HC matters for a QB.   This isn't a fluke Darnold is playing well. Minny hasn't been a bad franchise in a long time. They have a good environment for players.
    • The class is kind of souring on me.  I'm leaning a bit into the Nus-Bus with an eye on Allar.  Still want to see how the season plays out.
