BOA is less than 30 years old. Our society really has to get over this urge to dispose of everything to get a new shiny object.

BOA was built at the very wrong time, the design of stadiums completely changed less than 10 years after it was built and it very quickly became outdated because of it.

It might have been the exact same stadium if built 10 years earlier, but if built 10 years later it would have been modernized in design and functionality.  Just look at something like Ford Field, that was opened in 2002, it's en entirely different generation of football stadiums and opened not too long after BOA.

Does it function well for the purpose of NFL football games? Absolutely. That's really all that matters. If Tepper wants to foot the bill to pay for his stadium, fine. Have at it. But that's not going to happen. He's going to want the city to pay for it. fug that. There's way better uses for those hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars.

there's also a functional difference in design of enclosed/domed stadiums vs pure outdoor venues outside of southern california

Tepper will be 88

I just thought of the "Evil Emperor" Dude from Star Wars when I saw that mental picture. But, alas Jerry Jones already has taken up that mantle 😉.

    • The Panthers are currently in line to receive the 6th pick of the draft. Current draft order: 1 New England 1-4 (SOS .434) 2 Cincinnati 1-4 (SOS .488) 3 Cleveland 1-4 (SOS .506) 4 LA Rams 1-4 (SOS .506) 5 Jacksonville 1-4 (SOS .506) 6 Carolina 1-4 (SOS .542) 7 Tennessee 1-3 (SOS.518) Due to the Panthers having the highest SOS in the league, we currently lose the tie-breaker for draft position against every other 1 win team in the league. Obviously, these are the teams we need to pull for. We also need to lower our current SOS by having teams we have played and will play against lose. Here is who you should cheer for, in week 6, in order of importance, for lowering the Panthers draft pick. There are 9 games this week that will Directly affect out draft status. The team that needs to win is in bold 1. Atlanta vs Carolina 2. Houston vs New England 3. Cleveland vs Philadelphia 4. Jacksonville vs Chicago 5. Indianapolis vs Tennessee 6. Arizona vs Green bay 7. Washington vs Baltimore 8. Pittsburgh vs Las Vegas 9. Detroit vs Dallas   *Literally had my BOLD picks backwards in the original post and couldn't edit.
    • It's year 2. Some of that bad talent he had brought in. Is it all on Evero? No but he is part of the problem IMO. I think he is way overhyped here. I was happy to see him go elsewhere before we blocked him. They were 4th in yards allowed in 2023 and 29th in points allowed. Any way you look at it the opposing offenses didn't need more yards to score with the play on the other side being 31 and 32. It was never a good D under him then and it has actually gotten worse with more of his guys brought in. The 2 good guys are also guys here before he got here so that's also not good.
    • TBH, trading down is usually where we start fuging up really badly. Don't overcomplicate it. Just get safe(ish), elite talent in the top 5.
