In the last 15 years...

My older brother is a Jets fan who still remembers Super Bowl III.

I complain about the Panthers, and he says, "I'd take the past 20 years of being a Panther fan over being a Jets fan."

I guess so. But 10 years from now? We'll see.

I mean to be fair he has a point, the Jets have the longest current streak of a playoff drought in the 5 major US Sports (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, MLS). The last time they made it was the same year we started Jimmy Clausen at QB and Cam was winning a Heisman at Auburn.

2015 alone is better than any season Jets fans have experienced since 1968.

Oh Lordy we’ve reached “at least we aren’t the Jets” territory. This is close to rock bottom lol

You didn't think a 2-win season where the HC was fired mid-season, the owner threw a drink on a fan on camera, our QB had one of the worst seasons statistically in history, and we went into the offseason without the #1 overall pick or any 1st rounder was rock bottom?  Love the optimism

It blows my mind the Dolphins haven't won a playoff game since 2000

Raiders and Commanders kinda make sense because you know how bad their ownership was for so long.  But how haven't the Dolphins just lucked into a playoff win by now?

I mean think about how rough it has been these last 9 years for us.  And that still doesn't come close to the length of time it has been since Dolphins last playoff win.

Patriots for a long time, Miami can’t play in January up north in January and couldn’t get home field was my impression without researching each season.

so if they did get a wild card it was tough

They also play in the AFC East, so 15 years of Brady, 5 years of Allen - most years they could win 10 games and miss the Playoffs or squeak into a rough Wild Card game.  Still tremendously better than us most years in the last 9.

    • College tape is about all they have but it is against college guys so you have to account for that when you watch. I didn't watch much and don't remember if I caught on to the dropback meander and tippy toe until he was a pro. I saw people say about the LSU game having some nuggets, haven't watched it.  But the Pro Day issues were obvious immediately and with all the other questions I was just... out. All the way. I was thinking of it like a horse race and picking a long shot and going all in; if you lose we are walking home. Or to the homeless shelter.
    • "Don't let everyone that works for Tepper skate by scot-free" Well yeah we shouldn't do that but at the same time he is the one doing the hiring in every instance soo....
    • That is pretty much what I think. Never say never, but the odds are heavily stacked when you take in the big picture; he is squeezing his timeline now with every demonstration of his issues.  He has to have the proper form to get the max from his arm. He hit maybe a couple of longer throws last year but with all the misses and looking at Sunday those couple of nice balls could have been accidents. I mean whatever he did, is not repeatable. Or however many good downfield throws there were, I know not many. Even with drops.  What is happening I think is - he looked better in camp his balls looked better in the air, the form seemed to have been addressed. He was driving through it, looking good. But he hasn't taken that into the game. Snapped right back to his way at the first sign of trouble. I probably said this before like everything else but he could sit, work, try to fix his stuff for a whole season. If anybody wants to do that. Don't even play him, redshirt his ass and rebuild him the right way; I don't know what else you can really do if he doesn't get it out of the ditch. Starting Sunday. Rock bottom, he can reach and touch it he is getting so close. Week three is the big game for me, or was. I did not expect him to look like that.  That stuff he is doing I just don't think it will work. Maybe I am right maybe I am wrong. Oh well.
