I like Restrepo.  But he if he is your #1 and what your O is going through….I don’t call that a championship caliber O.  Thats not how  Championship caliber Os with good QBs are built.

Hunter Renfrow was a legend.  But Hunter Renfrow was an accessory/role player.

They don't have a number one, which imo could make them harder to defend.  4 guys with 20 plus catches is better than 1 guy with 60 or 70.  And most importantly, the run game is averaging 5 ypc or better even if you subtract Ward's scrambles/runs.  They can run and pass with the best of them.

They just can't stop anyone (well anyone other than Florida) and while they have a good shot at being in the playoffs, they have very little chance of winning because of poor defense.

Agree, a good offense will run it up on them.  They will face a decent defense as well at some point.

Everyone runs it up on them. They've just had enough offense to carry them. But the elite teams are gonna have enough defense to get enough stops to win comfortably IMO. Ward and the offense will still put up points but not enough.

Restrepo is the guy though.  It’s him and then the rest.  He nearly has double the yardage and double the scores of any other WR you could name.

I just think championship caliber defenses keep that O down…..and then anyone can put up points on that D (as you said).  Good D front is going to cause way more negative plays given the chances Miami essentially invites for everyone

Fhule cratered in the big game...

Rhule should never be in the NFL.

But he has shown the ability to turn college programs around.  Even with today's loss, Nebraska is off to its best start in a long time.  It will be interesting to see if he can bring the program back to a championship level if he sticks around for more than a couple of years.

Smart by Dabo though. Get those reserves some snaps.

It helps him keep kids too.  Why his model works.  No one in college football plays more kids than Clemson.  Starters basically call it a day each week before the 4th starts.  He is always grooming his roster up each week.

Hurts the scoreboard eyeball test and why his studs back in the day could never see a Heisman.  Think if Watson and Trevor hadn’t missed so much action they could have padded their stats more for that race.

For instance, if you're thinking you want a receiver, seeing five or six of them go off the board and reacting by taking the sixth or seventh off your list instead of the first (or second or third) something else isn't necessarily wise." https://www.panthers.com/news/ask-the-old-guy-back-into-the-weeds-of-the-nfl-draft-bryce-young-charlotte-hornets-mock-draft This is what some don't seem to get, I don't care how many times it is said: You're NOT going to draft an inferior person at one position, just because that position is perceived as, or is in fact, a bigger need. That would basically nullify, or at least lessen, the reason why you set yourself up via free agency to be able to take the BPA/BAP on the board in the first place.  Yes, the process is complex, very much involved and ongoing, but the overall philosophy is not rocket science. You set yourself up in order not to be pigeonholed into taking a lower graded player at the expense of a higher graded one. This is why Morgan, Gantt and countless of others say the same thing. This is why it's just nonsensical to set yourself in a position where you don't have to, but then act like you have to come hell or high water: "Oh, we have to draft [whatever position], and we can't draft [this position]."  I'm good with whatever they do, until proven otherwise, but even then, you have to be mature enough to know that drafting is an imperfect exercise, filled with hits and misses. And, you generally don't know if you've hit, and especially missed, right away. Moreover, like I've said before, sometimes two players--different positions or not--can both be hits on their respective teams, so in that sense, it's not purely about a right or wrong pick as much as it's about putting puzzle pieces together at the time the best way that you know how.  At the end of the day, people are going to believe what they want to believe, but one thing that's true is that what the Panthers do regarding the draft is dependent upon what others do, and what others do can and does change things. That being the case, it's just another reason why you can't go in with tunnel vision. The thought of doing that is preposterous.
    • He is a talented player with a lot of potential but ultimately he is a legend in his own mind and the minds of those who attack on his behalf when people pinpoint inconvenient truths. I could see people being so hostile over him if he actually had that kind of juice but he doesn't. Even in the Heat win LaMelo took 31 shots and was 40%. If not for Coby White's late heroics we would have lost in regulation. The reality is we do have pieces in place to compete in the playoffs but in year 6 and with a supermax and a salary that is only going to increase over the next few years LaMelo Ball simply does not look like a franchise centerpiece that you can go on multiple playoff runs with. Look at someone like Trae Young. His team moved on. And he actually took them to the conference finals. The Hornets are at a crossroads. Very tough conversations need to be had in the offseason.
