I couldn't stay up past regulation.   Did the ref's factor in UGA's victory?   No penalties against GT until the 4th quarter and then a very suspect PI call (that replay couldn't even point out) to give UGA 6 attempts at a touchdown from inside the 10 followed by 3 more penalties against GT on the following drives.

I feel like the refs helped UGA, but I’m a Bama fan who needed UGA to lose for Bama to have even a chance at the playoffs.

GT had a 27-20 lead around the 2:00 mark  on a 3rd and 1, Haynes King appeared to pick up the yardage for a first down, but he fumbled the ball on the hit. However, the hit appeared to include the crown of the UGA defender’s helmet directly into Haynes King’s facemask. This appeared to me to be textbook targeting by making forcible contact with the crown of the helmet, which would have overturned the fumble and given GT a first down.

The refs missed a blatant hold against UGA on their drive to tie the game. The hold occurred on 3rd and 9 and allowed Beck to scramble for a first down at about the 3 yard line. They later scored to tie, but a 3rd and 19 would have been much harder to convert.

There was also DPI on a 4th and Goal earlier in the game. The ball appeared to be tipped, which would have negated the DPI and given the ball to GT. The spin on the ball seemed to change after Beck let it go but the play wasn’t even reviewed.

All that being said, GT had opportunities to win the game but couldn’t get it done. Their coaching decisions in OT were highly questionable. For instance, Brett Key didn’t even know the OT rules, calling for one after GT’s second OT touchdown (required to go for two in second OT).  The play calling also went away from everything that worked throughout the game.

Injury report out, hopefully Clemson is going to actually get some guys back today and put them on the field to make it a game today.  Only one OL actually ruled out but it’s still a pretty big question mark of who actually can go today.  They need their offensive lineman to play

Watch Georgia lose this one, but win the SEC title game lol. Three loss teams have no business in the 12 team field.

it’s been pretty widely mentioned at this point that three loss teams have been in the twelve team field in a majority of seasons since the advent of the bcs.

not even sure why people are still saying this at this point

They called a phantom PI on 4th and Goal - that would have been the end of the game. They also didn't call targeting when a Georgia LB lit up the GT QB and caused a fumble.

Absolutely disgraceful decisions, both.

    • Chuba had some burst against the falcons and Rico is banged up. I think Chuba gets more run and gets in the end zone. Cmc also absolutely kills us through the air but is limited rushing. XL catches one long pass and drops 2 others. Ultimately I want us to look like we belong on the field and see if we can steal one late
    • The only thing that would truly surprise me would be a Panthers blowout win. I think the likelihood of that happening is almost 0. So I think it goes one of three ways, and I think the Panthers can only win one of the three ways.  Option 1: The 49ers win by 2+ scores in a game that is close at halftime but the 49ers run away with it in the second half. The Panthers running game produces early and help the Panthers take an early lead, but the 49ers focus on stopping Dowdle in the second half, while Bryce falters and is largely a non factor reverting back to the ineffective QB we’ve seen for most of his career. On defense, the Panthers poor tacking being the difference in the game. 49ers 38 Panthers 20 Option 2: Panthers win a gutty, low scoring, hard fought defensive game like the 2013 win in San Francisco which was a fantastic game if you enjoy defensive battles. Panthers defense rises to the occasion and shuts down Purdy and CMC and the game is a battle of field goals. Time of possession heavily favors the Panthers with both Hubbard and Dowdle getting 10+ touches. Bryce is clutch in the 4th quarter leading the team to another last second win. Panthers 19 49ers 16 Option 3 (and I think this is what Vegas is leaning towards): The 49ers win a back and forth high scoring game with the 49ers pulling out a last minute victory. There are good and bad moments for both teams, the defenses both force turnovers and the game is back and forth until the end. 49ers 27 Panthers 25 If this was a Sunday 4 o’clock game I would say Option 3 is most likely. Given the Panthers atrocious performances in prime time games in….really the entire history of the franchise, I think it’ll be Option 1. But I really hope they can keep the game low scoring and get a gutty win which would go a long way towards making the playoffs.
