Yup. There is not a single team outside of the 12 that would have a chance, and that is the whole idea, to make sure everyone with a chance gets in. Who is 11 or 12 is irrelevant.

I would say there is not a single team outside of the top 2 or 3 that have a chance, so why have all the others in to begin with? Pointless games except for 1 huge item..$$$$$.

This year I think most of the top 8 teams have a chance tbh

How are you determining the top 2-3? There's one P4 undefeated team and another 10 with two or fewer losses.

Damn, OSU is going for the blowout. Going for it on 4th and 4 from midfield up 21-0? Diabolical. LOL!

Ryan Day trying to shut these naysayers up and the OSU fans mockingly chanting SEC! SEC! SEC!

Think he got to win at least another game to start feeling safe.   But feels like he coaching with more than just winning on his mind.

I was just told by a Colorado fan the 6th best team in the SEC is better than best teams in all the other conferences.   So I don’t understand how this game is happening

But that has always been the question. Does having 8 teams that have no realistic shot at winning the tournament help to define the tippy top? It seems more like a battle of attrition then. Well, this team ran the gauntlet of inferior opponents, so it is best. In that case, why stop at 12? Have the entire top 25 battle it out.

I guess what I am saying is I like more games as much as everyone else. This doesn't work for me though, and doesn't offer the compelling contests that we expect from playoff football.

Well, that Panthers/Ravens fan said the Ravens didn't even look playoff caliber as soon as they started out down 7-0 today. LOL

Bingo. The 12 team format is good. There will always be squabbles about the bubble teams but 12 is gonna get in everyone with a legit chance.

Now just move the games to neutral locations to remove home field advantage.

If they really wanted to mix it up, make the better seed play on the road in the 1st round lol.

Random Cade Klubnik put up more pass yards than any team put up total yards on Texas all season today…and almost matched their season pass TD total allowed.  That’s the best D in college football.  Texas lucky Clemson played HS defense with it.

all the teams have shown they are inconsistent this season.  While these bottom barrel teams got no shot of stringing games together and actually competing for a natty….i still think any of these teams can get beat if they catch a team having a good day.  No dawg had a had a good day yet but we saw it all season IMO.

which is I guess what they want to happen with the 12 team format… some team that really isn’t top tier catching a good day and taking someone down.  Hasn’t happened yet but there are still several left….and now potentially you get more wounded versions of teams going forward.  Texas got beat up today for example.  Really they are a top 4 team.  Now they got to go against ASU beat up.  Might catch more injuries there too.  I think college football wanted moments and people getting beat by teams they shouldn’t is it.  Just like 1 per playoff is what they want IMO

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
