Illinois just got screwed big time. All the way down to the 1 and a “fumble” at the goal.  Everyone watching replay agrees it’s either a TD or he is down at the 1….and the refs still give SC the ball/touchback.

refs in save the SEC mode early

So a Michigan team missing most of its starting defense, it’s top offensive weapon, and doesn’t have a QB that can throw a forward pass.

Just beat a Bama team ESPN cried for 2 weeks straight that they should’ve made the playoffs.

Hope Duke beats Ole Miss to complete the CFP crybaby sweep.

Lol, are you allowed to substitute forever?? What the heck is this refereeing?

I was rooting for Illinois.  Now I’m just rooting for Shane Beamer to have a meltdown on the refs and for the horrible reffing to continue.  It’s been both ways.  But Illinois technically ahead in terms of  getting the bad end of the stick presently.

And breaking up crews for the big games has never made  logical sense on any level of football.   Crews should get games.  Not random dudes that don’t work together

I'm a south carolina fan and I agree that the refeering has been awful, i guess if anything it's been awful both ways.

Hopefully they settle down and disappear.  Felt like high school refs found themselves in the Super Bowl lol

No real issue with a coach trying to getting under an overall on the day flustered Beamers skin….but using a window because YOU got injured player on the field to do it….might be one of the lamest moves I’ve seen by a HC in some time.  So, damn.  Now I gotta root for SC the rest of the way here

SC game officiating is completely one sided

its ridiculous. Just like the LSU game.

It’s been pretty bad overall.  I still think is fairly even of just being bad.   Embarrassing they sell these games as featuring the best refs.   You shouldn’t break up and create new crews of guys that don’t work together.  Entirely new dynamics within the crew.

    • This And with possibly needing to replace Bryce next year and a deep QB class, I do not hate the idea of moving far enough back to pick up another 1st rounder next year out of the deal. I wouldn't have said that a week ago, but I also never expected us to land 3 big FA's at our 3 biggest positions of need like we have, it totally changes things.
    • The OL has certainly been better than the trainwreck it was three or four years ago. As far as competitiveness let's apply some realism and clarity here. Quite a bit of the competitiveness in 2025 came from the defensive side of the ball which gave up the most points in league history the year before and was one of the bottom 5 units in terms of salary cap allocation for 2025 while the OL was top 3. We had the 26th passing offense last year. And if not for a herculean couple of games from Rico Dowdle we don't back our way into the division title or make the playoffs because we went 4-6 in our final ten games including being swept by the Saints who were starting a rookie 2nd round pick most of us mercilessly mocked when they selected him. In conclusion yes we've seen a difference. The question now is will the investment pay off the way we want. But the only way that happens is if we field a top 15 offense. If we can't even crack the top 20 then there need to be some very warm seats across the board. And I would hope just about anyone here should agree with that.
    • These Spurs are lowkey loaded.  If healthy, they could win it all this year (#2 in the West right now). I still think we’ve gotta keep Kalk on Wemby; he’s not getting completely dominated like every other NBA center.
