Zero ranked opponents. Two unranked losses. No argument for them to get in.

I wasn't lobbying for the Canes to get in (although obviously we should be in - two road losses by a combined 9 points).

I just wanted others to feel pain.

Yeah, I'm for leaving out the bubble teams with very obvious flaws. Milroe is just too limited as a passer to win three games against playoff caliber teams. Just not gonna happen. I'd love to see Cam Ward against a playoff caliber team but let's be real, Miami's D is gonna give up 40+ and they're gonna lose so why bother?

Absolutely agree concerning Milroe. When he is bad, he is REALLY bad, and you just never know which Milroe will show up.

Good Bama is better than SMU but bad Bama laid a few eggs that cost them

Agree. Good Bama could win the playoffs, but you can’t reward good Bama with the way bad Bama showed up in games against far lesser opponents.

It’s remarkable Miami is even ranked as high as they are…that schedule is cupcake city

CFP can’t decide what a conference championships mean or don’t mean. Clemson beats a #8 SMU to be ACC champs…..move up only 1 spot from 17 to 16.   Miami at stays at 13.

I think what the committee really is saying is don’t play anyone outside your conference and titles are largely meaningless.  Final record and then head to head are the focus points (SEC teams just out show that)

What the committee is saying (lower case C, cos fug 'em) is that if you don't play in the SEC or the BIG10 you'd better win your Conference because otherwise they'll find every excuse to omit you.

Great point.  I think if SMU played Bama’s schedule they aren’t in this discussion.

Both App State and Unc fired their coaches,  so both my college teams are pretty much toast for the year.

UNC football has always been toast, sometimes it just takes a few games to accept it but the inevitable always happens. That's my experience as a lifelong Heels fan.

If App has known this NIL stuff was coming I don't think they would've made the jump up to D1. I'd rather contend for championships at the D1AA level than be an also ran hoping to land in a toilet bowl in D1. They just don't have the resources to compete in the NIL era.

I said that going into the season. The twelve team field is gonna put an end to meaningful out of conference games other than long standing rivalry games and it might just take a couple of ill-timed losses in those costing playoff spots to bring some of those to an end.

I think head to head is overpriortized this year in CFP.  They wouldn’t jump SC over Bama or Ole Miss…and should have.  Then Clemson beats a #8 SMU team to win a title and they can’t move them up and value a title because of the SC head to head.

AP seems to have done better in that section minus where they got Bama.  They should be behind SC like Ole Miss.  They got Miami rightfully behind Clemson.

    • Renfrow is just sort of a 1 of 1 on the roster.  No real comparable.  If you ask him to play like others he will be lesser.  You have to want to do what he does.  That was never the Canales O nor did it suit with Bryce.  I think there usage/development of Jimmy Horn has really stunk.  It's like they had one gimmick and then that was it.  Outside of that really random ball he caught early on.  But, scheming up gimmick Jimmy Horn plays is probably a bad use of a pass down given what our O is.  Really just need to keep it basic.  Progression should be Tmac, Coker and probably RB in the pass game as the big 3 pass options.
    • Hey, at this point, just happy to be here. I do want to rob Tampa and end their streak, though. That would be perfect.
    • I love college football and generally enjoy it even more than the NFL but it is undeniably a mess right now with this NIL and transfer portal stuff and the whole ND thing is just beyond absurd. I know NFL fans bitched about the Pats for years and then the Chiefs for years about how they got special treatment but honestly most of that was just about the media and announcers dick riding them and a perceived friendly call here and there. They didn't get to not have to play in a conference, have their own special individual rep to lobby in their behalf when no other team does, nor literally get special clauses just for them to create a different standard for qualifying for the playoffs versus the standard for everyone else. And ND fans really have the nerve to take about a bias against ND? Well, no poo. If you don't hate ND you're not paying any attention.
