Dan Morgan is an awful GM

Dude as evidenced by our roster and shitty trades and no trades you could absolutely easily make the case that your boy fitterer was the worst GM in the history of the NFL.  Plan or no plan the motherfuger sucked ass and its still strange how you defend to this day

This isn't a defense. It's an analysis.

Good Plan / Poor Execution doesn't equal good GM.

Build from the trenches out, fortify the defense, get the skill players set, then draft the quarterback.

A lot of that actually did get done. Unfortunately the lynchpin was Bryce, so...

Fitterer’s list of failures is so extensive that I’m not sure how you can say he accomplished any of those things. The offensive line was the worst position group the year he got fired, so much so that his successor spent $200m in free agency to try to fix it. He traded away quality skill players and replaced them with far worse players. I can’t say how much of his failure can be attributed to being Tepper’s lackey, but the fact remains he is the worst GM in team history by record. Maybe Morgan overtakes him, anything is possible!

Something about that OL that I question. Other than the two guards it is the almost the same OL. Last season most of the issues were the guards. With the upgrade at guards like was done, I don't understand why Bozeman couldn't have worked. I really don't think he is worse than Christensen.

Not a major major thing just seems inefficient.

He was fat as fug here last year. Literal fat stomach and jawl weight, had to be 40 pounds over what he was his last season in Baltimore. MF looked like he’d been training with Otah and Kelvin Benjamin. He was an atrocious turnstile last year. Center getting beat directly off the snap is the worst pressure there is. Body is looking wayyyy better in San Diego this year tho. Too many Bojangles and bbq joints around here for Bozeman.

Good point about the weight . Bozeman was trash last year . Stayed  on his back almost every passing down  . Corbett was looking much better than him before injury .

Bryce Young over CJ Stroud is like Blaine Gabbert over Cam Newton.

Unforgiveable incompetence.

Worse, at least Gabbert could hand off to Fournette, not put his defense in horrible positions, and make enough competent throws to get to the playoffs and advance there.

Morgan knows what a good locker room culture looks like, people are forgetting he was on those really good teams in the Jake days. Not understanding that won't be one of his weaknesses. They dealt with Diontae pretty quickly.

Gonna be hard to keep a good locker room when we are out of the game after the 1st quarter. These guys don't go through what they do to be part of a perennial loser and that's what the Tepper Panthers are.

when he drafted Bryce.....the trenches were meh and the skill talent was meh.  So, his bad rookie QB ended up in a bad spot....weak OL play, WRs that couldn't get open on their own, and a D that couldn't do basics like stop the run.

not sure what he got done right before he made the Bryce mistake.

But it does equal a Panthers GM.

There are a lot of different ways to fail.

At this point I think we've probably seen most of them.

We actually had a pretty good offensive line the year before.

Then we went to a zone blocking scheme despite having road grader types manning the line and everything fell apart.

That's the type of thing I mean when I complain about the staff turnover.

Bozeman had trouble setting up pre snap protection with Bryce. Plus, we were moving to a pass heavy/zone running offense and Bozeman was not good at either pass pro/zone blocking but rather downhill run blocking in Steve Wilks schemes.

    • Me biased?    I'm actually quite the opposite.   I just don't do the knee jerk reactions that the huddle are infamous for.  When I do post, it tends to be for calm, and perspective.   I know that isn't the way around here.    Anyways, I'm glad I can entertain you.  Have a great day sir, truly.
    • The Robert Hunt signing was one of the best FA signings this franchise has ever made. It's shocking what one signing can do for the rest of the team. He's elevated everyone around him, is a culture changer, and is a great player in his own right. Everyone in the media and some within our fanbase were snickering at that signing, stupid 'ol Panthers making him a top 5 paid Guard in the league. It's been an incredible move! That combined with Damien Lewis has completely stabilized the line and made the Panthers fun to watch again.
    • well, Bryce not losing games for us and not asked to be a big part of the O.....is how we should be trying to win.   so it depends what convo you want to have.  How the Panthers should try to win games without a starting caliber QB or do you want to have a Bryce Young convo.  To me, that are different convo and you talk about the game much differently.  If Bryce/Canales were both average at their jobs.....well, Bryce has a much better stat line in a game like that.  I mean, go look what NFL QBs in the top 5-15 do when the run game is really working well.  You generally end up w/ a strong offensive day.  Which we didn't have.
