Who wants Bryce to fail?

It's easy to define fail.  It's harder to define success.  Do I want him to fail.  Hell no.  But if he can't succeed in any definition of the word I just want this trial to be over.

Winning games and making smart decisions, checked those success boxes today. Made clutch throws when he needed to and looks more poised and confident. Progress

I am not ready to draft another QB.  Many here wanted Caleb and he looks mostly terrible right now.  If Bryce can keep going we invest in rest of the team. Only when we ‘re actually a QB away do we need to reassess if Bryce is holding the team back.

I understand the frustration with the team.  But I’ve seen us suck out loud for years and these draft picks haven’t fixed it.

I like winning.  Don’t care who gets us there or how.  Just win.  The rest will fall into place.

If you need that #1 pick so badly, go put some salve on that sore vageener.  I’m gonna enjoy the win.

People in the board have Bryce derangement syndrome.

They really believe guys like JT O’Sullivan, Chase Daniel’s have bias on their film breakdowns to pump up Bryce. They blame bad play designs on Bryce, everything wrong with the offense is Bryce’s fault. As if some other QB will come in this offense with a bunch of rookies “with butterfingers” and light up the box score. We just saw a 15 year vet in Dalton play one of the worst games ever recorded a couple weeks ago with the same supporting cast with Johnson. I’m convinced none of them watch football.

I don’t want him to fail, I don’t want anyone to fail. What I know is Bryce isn’t the guy and this team will keep putting him out there like he is and we will be the giants with Daniel Jones, extending him to a horrid contract while the team kicks rocks for another 7 years. I really, truly, sincerely hope Bryce proves me wrong. I’ve said it a million times, if he is good, this team is good and that’s all that matters.

I don’t think anyone wants Bryce to fail.  Rather,  I think many have come to terms that it’s impossible for Bryce to succeed given his limitations.  On an Internet forum  these expressions come out as caustic and negative but I do think that is the overwhelming opinion of the “Anti Bryce” camp.

I am sure some of his superlatives get glossed over at times but the overwhelming message is that many believe that Bryce is not the answer.   I personally wish him the best and if he is my QB I want him to play well and succeed but from what I have seen he is not an elite QB in the NFL. I hope I am wrong in my assessment though.

Yardage total is irrelevant for today's game.  Its quite clear they are being extremely careful with him.  In part to help his confidence, and in part (for this game) because the Giants run defense is so bad.  Today was old school football, and Canales is smart for running it that way until he gets more comfortable with Bryce.

    • Check out the game by game breakdowns this past year for TMac.  He feasted on bad competition like UNM with 304 yards and 4 TDs then went 7 straight games without a TD. He broke 100 receiving yards in 5 of the 12 games he played.  The only concern I have is him disappearing in some games.  One report is he was playing hurt and I know his QB play was pretty bad.  He just isn't as strong of a prospect as Evans was IMO.  That doesn't mean he won't be great in the NFL.
    • I swear to god, this has been said so many times by people on here, and I have to call it out for what it is, utter and complete nonsense. This isn't even me pushing for my guy again, it's just dumb.   Bryce doesn't have a cannon for an arm, he literally couldn't even properly take advantage of the type of player you're talking about here if he wanted to.  If you want to say we need an uber quick fast twitch WR to get the ball into their hands and let their speed make plays, that's totally fair.   But to say we need that true speedster deep threat (and I know you didn't include "speedster" but if you're saying "true deep threat" instead of a "jump ball guy" it's clearly what you mean) is just nonsense when our QB has probably the weakest arm of any starting QB (and again, think what you will about Bryce's potential, that's just an indisputable fact). Honestly, I have no idea what people are watching when they say stuff like this Basically every single "expert analysis" of T-Mac as a prospect talks about how he's surprisingly fluid and a threat after the catch for a player of his size.  If you want to talk about his speed and how fast/slow he looks to you, that's something I can't knock as yes, his overall speed is his one main weakness. But to say Evans looked more fluid than T-Mac is again, just literal nonsense, everything else you think about him as a prospect aside.
    • I wouldn’t completely say that. It’s not good as last year. But Wilson, had just as good a season this year as any Center coming out of last years draft.  And athletically,  will be similar if not more athletic than the Duke kid that went rd 1 last year. Thing going against him.  He only has 1 year experience.  First year playing and starting at Georgia.  And he isn’t versatile, most scouts believe he only a Center at the next level, unsure he can play Guard at the next level.  Thats part of the reason the West Virginia kid dropped last year.  And why the Duke kid surged Duke to him being able to play multiple positions. Wilson, I’d take no questions rd 3, towards the end of the 2nd.  I wouldn’t be mad.  Probably rather get someone else and hope he falls to rd 3.    People said the same thing about the Eagles when they took Jurgens rd 2 after taking Dickerson rd 2 the year before
