He did look really good in the KC game. The other 2 wins, not so much. He didn't make any real mistakes and that's a huge improvement in itself. He also had a really good game against Green Bay last year. I'm still not sold but no one would be more happy than me to be wrong.

Yeah, the two games after Green Bay we were shutout. I wouldn't expect that again, but it is his track record. He can change it if he doesn't like it.

I think last year actually set him back.  Our interior online was one of the worst I've seen.  Combine that with Frank archaic system and about 10 other things and then Canales comes in and implements his system regardless who the players were.

A lot of coaches think their system can work with any player and don't do any or as much as they should with tailoring it to fit the player.

Canales admitted that pretty much in our first game but when he scaled it back and Bryce still looked horrible so he was benched.  That move right there is one of the big things that has sold me on Canales.

I judge him based on what he's done since he was renamed the starter.  I probably need to give him a little more rope because it probably seemed in his first game like it was just like last year.  Another new coach with his system and Bryce just went along.

Both the coach and the player are adapting to each other and I think that we are back, baby!!!!  It's just like Drew Brees and Sean Payton except without the mole and the butthole lips.

Dude.........

I'm trying to understand why former NFL players are saying he had a great game while the usual suspects here are clinging to the stat line and saying, "THIS IS AVERAGE!!!!" In 2023 the passing average passing yards for an NFL game was 219. Bryce threw for 263yds. That is clearly above average.

Those same fans are saying that he made "average" NFL throws while former NFL players are calling them "jaw dropping."

The only three conclusions I can draw are that those angry Huddlers either didn't watch the game, don't know poo about football, or have an unhealthy obsession with hating Young. ~\_(ツ)_/~

i don't get why you care so much about a huddlers opinion. You are free to think differently. Some formulate their own opinion, some follow others opinions like you are doing with former NFL players opinions. That's fine. Let people hate and enjoy the entertainment that comes with comments on this site.

A big reason a lot of former players are so impressed by his throws is the anticipation under pressure. That's not always the easiest to see for fans watching the games. But also, fans are mostly fixated on what he doesn't do and his numbers. A lot of us do admit it was a great game, just aren't sold on him overall yet.

I still firmly believe Cam has made us all judge young QBs a little differently...

Right now it's an anomalous good game. We'll see if he builds on it but so many people so excited about 253 yards and a TD kinda speaks to just how bad he's been.  He finally showed some poise and an ability to make some throws and put together a legitimately good game. That's a good thing. But when this is your crown jewel after 20 or so starts, I mean... we still need to see a lot more over these last few games.

I don’t think we’ll ever see an elite QB like the top QBs out of Bryce. He just doesn’t have the size to do what Allen can do or the crazy skills of Mahomes off platform or Burrow, Lamar and the rest of the top QBs.

I said it in another thread. The best hope we can have is an Alex Smith type that can win this crappy division and we can keep building up the team around him cheaply and then hopefully find our Super Bowl contending QB talent.

We can’t be Daniel Jonesed in to paying Young a mint for what is a QB that would never go to the playoffs in a division with a top team but could win our poo division at 10-7.

At least we get a max of 3 more years to figure that out for sure. The past few weeks have been promising but hes not a finished product

I've still got my guard up, but as long as we're competitive - I'm happy.

To play devils advocate, he was lucky Icky was there for that fumble. That ball slipped out of his hand like a bar of soap and it was a pretty standard sack, he didn't get drilled or hit while throwing. Those kind of plays still have me apprehensive that he is a "guy". The throw out of bounds on 3rd down was stupid too.

Not every game is going to be perfect, but he's showing flashes.

I have been critical of Bryce but he looks like a completely new person after the benching. It would be crazy for us to not see what we've got with him moving forward. This draft is not good for QBs anyway. Build up the team and re-eval QB in 2026

One game above average. Technically 2 but the yards in the Broncos game were in garbage time. But I am certain if you take all of his games he played this year he’d be below average.
His average this year is 171 yards a game. I am hoping to seem him stringe some games together and get that average up. He has a chance this week since the Bucs defense isn’t that great.

I think most of us have a horrible taste in our mouthes that he put there, and we want to make sure we don't end up with that for another long season. If people don't like that, tough.

He has the rest of the year, at least as of today, to show the raised level of his passing game isn't temporary. People aren't denying it is much better, but let's see the proof for more than one game. Are we gonna be right back to 125 yards next week? It is a fair question.

generally I like to throw out someone's worst game and there best game.  What does that story tell you about a player.
