Johnson Left Early?

I forgot to post this during the game, but towards the end Brayton and Hardy were our starting ends (Hardy got gashed in the run game - has to be RE for now). I recalled seeing Chuck get up after a tackle clutching his left forearm/wrist area but never heard anything afterwards (Commentary was God awful).

Anyone heard anything? Or was I seeing things?

I really don't want him to go down after a stellar first campaign as a starter :(

I met Hardy over the summer at OTAs. He has a high motor, but is a different personality. Slightly strange--a little "unbalanced" if anyone were balanced. Nice guy, quiet. I imagine he is difficult to coach, but if someone could coach him, it is Coach Baker. I think we need to keep our defensive coaching staff if possible. If so, you will see Hardy become a stud, like Mathis at Indy.

Hardy is part of a crap Dline with no definite leader which isn't good and he will need to be coached.

Shut up, if you honestly think that our DLine is completely crap then you are a moron. Johnson has been one of the best 4-3 ends in the NFL, Hardy has played very well in limited time and Brown has actually been moderate at pass rushing. We miss a consistent big body at DT, that is all.

Brayton is a good player to have as an example for younger guys. High motor, never gives up, been considered a 'bust' and bounced back. Not much more you can ask for in a veteran.

No one heard anything about Johnson then? I have had a hunt around, so it might have been my eyes deceiving me.

maybe a bit of hyperbole in the original statement, but the truth is our defensive tackles are terrible 75% of the time, and none of our guys on the line - DT or DE - are really leaders.

as it's been stated before, if you plug in even one DT that can collapse the pocket (two if we're really really lucky) the entire stable of defensive ends will look twice as good.

Hardy just gets overzealous sometimes I think when defending the run. Its no excuse, but that's what happens. Instead of staying outside and flushing the runner back into the LBs, he comes inside, and leaves a poop ton of space to the outside where there is only a Corner who is already locked up by a wideout. I'm sure its simple stuff for Coach Baker, but it's looking like it'll take some time for Hardy to be disciplined.

On a brighter note, how about how well Hardy plays on ST's. First man down the field a LOT of times.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
