Nah the team tightened up a bunch that they wouldn't normally play with Freddie....  it changed our style it sucks

They did, but the devils still had their chances to score and pyotr did his job after the 1st goal. And let's keep in mind this is the first ice time he has seen in a while - that's definitely not an easy situation to have to come into

To people that know hockey, how thick is the back of the Goalie mask? If it's thin, hitting the crossbar definitely caused a concussion

I’m not sure his head hit the crossbar. It looks like it does from the over the top angle, but from the other angle in the comments of that tweet, it appears as if his head goes under the bar. That’s the hope, at least.

I also don’t get the angst in this thread over Devils fans cheering as Freddie skates off. It is fairly common in sports for fans to cheer when an injured player is able to get up and “walk” off the field under their own power. I took it as a show of respect in that way, not as a show of happiness that Freddie was injured.

They were also cheering while he was laying on the ice injured if that helps explain why

Didn’t catch that part. Saw the highlight of him getting hit without the sound and then the cheering while he went off. If they meant it to show happiness that he was injured, that’s poor form.

    • Pretty sure that a QB contract payday is all the competition any QB in this league needs, I don't think a competent backup is going to make them play any harder when the current situation wouldn't warrant the contract extension yet anyways. Your opening point in this post is also the problem, "Bryce has shown signs of improving", but that's still all he's shown, and he's only showing that because of just how bad he was to start his career. If he played like last season from the beginning and never improved one bit, then I actually think more fans would be ready to move on from him, which is what's weird.  It's like going from one of the biggest draft busts of all time into the 25th best QB in the league over 3 years means he deserves a long term $40+ million a year contract extension. Improvement shouldn't be the goal when the result of said improvement is still bottom of the league levels.
    • Yeah, but we've seen him do it. Just not often. I think that's the reason for the taller WRs. Would likely be a problem finding someone like Jimmy Horn in the mess.
    • And the Rams, Seattle, Patriots, Green Bay, Jaguars and the Bills who all made the playoffs and in case you forgot, Seattle and the Patriots played in the SB. By any measure, that's pretty brutal.
