No, some of us will see Humphrey 1 and Frazier 2. We know about Frazier but don’t forget that when C was a huge hole without Kalil, we took TMJ right before Humphrey. Lots of us in here wanted OL, OL and more OL that draft but we liked Erving and Elflein better. Could have had Slater, Humphrey, Smith, Moton and even BC anchoring the OL for years. Could have had Garrett Wilson and $150M for DL as well. It’s truly groundbreaking how bad that Fitterer dude was.

Some of us see Linderbaum and Humphrey...

But at the same time... Mays up there @ #6 as a sixth-round pick surrounded by first- and second- round guys is impressive and likely why they felt comfortable passing on them for other players.

I am not sure if we have done

enough on defense to be great, but the offense has no excuses.

They were the worst receiving group in the NFL last season after Diontae lost his mind.

We're putting a lot of faith in 2 second year players developing, 2 rookies (1 being a 6th rounder), a 30 years old that hasn't played in years, and a bunch of UDFA. Hopefully Dan and Brad can work their magic.

I don't know if the order of operations fits, but I'm glad Mays has shown he can play in this league.  We missed out on the top guys, but we may have made out alright regardless.  Even if Mays is just a bridge, its encouraging to see his improvement since being drafted.  As a rookie I wasn't sure that he was going to stick.

People were not that high on Mays during the season.  I saw some good stuff from him and felt that we have our center.   He and Hunt are tight, fwiw.  When the good players accept you, it is because they know and trust you.  I am not sold on Corbett as the starter--Mays, in my view, earned it.

I have center 1 as one of my pre-season battles to watch. Corbett is not guaranteed the job.

It's a lot more relevant than WR6 or secondary depth (I still think that we're not done here. I expect a S and CB to be added before week 1).

I hope there's a good competition for starting center this season. Since we have a young QB who is still very much developing, this is a massively important role to get set in stone here.

Good luck to Cade!

Yeah, I hope Cade wins the job.  I am pretty sure Corbett is one and done here, but if he wins the job after 1 healthy season in three, he will ask for a big extension, in my estimation.  If Mays shows well early, I would extend him to a decent contract while you have options.

Corbett has played 9 of the past 34 games.

Mays and Zavala looked lost in the Reich offense.  Granted Zalava was probably playing too soon due to injuries but he looked terrible.  This new staff seems to be doing well with our OL.  I also wonder if having two vets in Hunt and Lewis just made life that much easier on whoever was/is playing center.

This board, me included, was beating the drums for both Humphrey and Frazier. I honestly think this board would draft better than the actual team after the first round, like if we had a consensus poll everytime we picked. Panthers wasting shitloads of money on scouting

    • Do you even know what the term "below average" means? Because I'm genuinely not sure if you do. There are 32 QB's in the league, which means to be playing "above average" he'd have to be the 15th best QB at the league, and even then, that's in essence the "average NFL QB" still. Even going by these rankings, which have him 20th, that by itself is the definition of "below average", and that's before you consider there are multiple QB's ranked below him in this list that I'd 100% trade him for in a heartbeat. Again, no matter what you think the eye test tells you, he's made 28 starts and has a grand total of FOUR games over 247 yards.  Drake Maye has made 10 starts, all with a significantly worse group of pass catchers than Bryce has had, and he already has 3 games over that number himself. I don't need to see or know anything else beyond that to determine he is a below average QB in this league so far and I don't know how anyone can honestly argue against that.  If he was a Lamar Jackson type putting up 75+ yards rushing on a consistent basis, then you can look at those passing yards differently, but that's not the case here. Could he still improve and get to average or better?  Of course. But you're trying to extrapolate a few throws/drives/moments from a handful of games and trying to say that makes him even an average, if not above average, QB in this league.  Which is just nonsense when the players you're comparing him to have played at that level for full seasons or their entire careers.

    • Who says no to the following.  Trade KK and Morrow for a draft pick of some sort.  Sign the following:  Bennett 8m AAV Ekblad 8m AAV Boeser 7.5m AAV Marner 13m AAV Cap numbers work after the trade of KK and Morrow.
