Bryce’s new look. He looks like a grown up

0-2 against the Saints with 285 combined passing yards 1 TD 1 INT in 8 quarters.

Meanwhile Shough had 554 combined passing yards 3 TD's and no turnovers.

Shough in 4 quarters basically matched Bryce's yardage from 2 whole games.

You can't cope yourself out of that.

And this is a Saints team that has been in a perpetual rebuild for years now starting a rookie 2nd round pick behind center.

Yuck.

And I believe the 1st matchup was Shough’s 2nd career start.

Remember Bryce’s 2nd start?

If you don’t, no sweat, he will probably replicate it a couple more times this year.

this is why I barely visit this site anymore. you say something logical like Bryce Young's worst game was vs a defense that is widely known as one of the best defenses ever and cruised to a superbowl win, even when he led the team down the field vs them in the 4th quarter and scored a TD to bring it within a one score game and then the same 5 posters quote you over and over with one liners trying to spin the narrative to fit their Bryce is bad shtick. strato, frankw, oldham, mrcompletely, linville. they all pie eachother and spend hours on here each day making sure nobody has anything positive to say about the team or bryce. its boring, predictable and exhausting. but im glad they have found community.

I say positive things about Bryce when he earns them. Which he has a handful of times. It is all here and on the record but your lobby won’t focus on that or the flat out truth inside of our critical comments.

It is a constant thing with him and his backers - one or two good things and people are trying to extrapolate that to proof we should commit to him, while ignoring or making excuses for the larger portion of his track record.

When he is able to consistently turn in franchise QB extension worthy outings the tone of the posts will reflect that.

I have already said that if he would play like he did in the WC as often as we need him to, I would be okay with keeping him.
See you don’t want to talk about that though because it shows actual fair minded evaluation not stanning.

Oh please with the wallowing in victimhood I'm going to take my ball and go home routine. You were just in here referring to people as super weird haters because they don't completely agree with your borderline delusional spin on what Bryce Young is and isn't as a fourth year starter.

We can hope by some miracle that Bryce Young will actually be able to lead a formidable passing offense this season without being irrational homers and pretending verfiable data and what we have seen with our own two eyes doesn't tell us exactly what he has been to this point which is someone who moves the ball at a historically low rate.

It feels like a broken record at this point but I really want him to show he either is or isn't our future this year.  This QB class looks like a prime one to find a replacement plus our roster looks like it would be a good one to put a rookie in (of course we heard this before as well).

Yeah I am with you. I have said many times the ceiling I think we have seen and it is the WC game. So, great. But look how low the floor goes.
The name of the game when doing something for a living is how high can that floor be maintained? You have to know or feel that 9 of 10 times if not every time, you are going to at least get a certain level of performance even on the worst day.  And it will be respectable.

The WC game was good offense against a solid defense.  The ATL game has to be a ceiling to me, but I'd love the WC to be more of the norm with the ATL to be the offense firing on all cylinders.  It will be interesting to see how the offense does with a new play caller and Bevell having some influence.

You can choose either or both. And a couple of others.
I just went WC because it was a playoff game. Carries more weight. And LA wasn’t a great defense but it is a better team than Atlanta was.

edit to add yes I forgot about Bevell and Idzik. They are throwing everything at supporting him.  If he can’t succeed with all that has been done, let’s just move on.  Time to find out.

I honestly just don’t think Canales was ready to handle all that goes into being a HC plus play calling (something he was still new to and not great at yet). Idzik will be brand new to it but that’s one of the main things he can focus on plus having a seasoned vet like Bevell should go a long way if they listen to him.
I think a big issue with Bryce will be the locker room seems to have really bought into him. However he plays he seems to have a good head on his shoulder and does well in a leadership role. If they do decide to replace him it will be an interesting thing for them to navigate. I’d assume most players know it’s just business and want to win above everything else.

I agree about it was too much for green Canales.
It does seem like the team overall believes in Bryce.

But then, like coach speak, a lot of what they say is what they are supposed to say. What they really think may not necessarily  be what they say publicly.

I am reminded that even Theilen lost faith in him, very publicly, in 2024. He has to earn that trust every time he steps on the field.
If he can’t muster more than 100 - 150 yards a game for very long that belief can erode pretty quickly
