14/24 for 54 yards and an INT with the playoffs on the line. People talking about us "winning" the division ignore that we did all we could to lose it and just got lucky with tiebreaker. We lost our last two and three of our last four with a playoff berth right there for the taking taking. Bryce threw for over 200 yards in one of those finl four games games.

I see you purposely left out his rushing TD and that this game was verse arguably the greatest defense of all time that cake walked their way to a Super Bowl. Also, if IRRC - we were in that game until a dumb ass penalty by Jaycee Horn.

We lost three of our past four with Bryce having a historical pathetic game in one of them, two mediocre games, and one good game. That's the reality. Showing up one game out of four with the playoffs on the line is trash tier for a third year #1 overall pick.

Greatest defense of all-time? GTFOH. Hell, I'd argue they weren't even the best defense in the league last year. I'd give that to the Texans. Seahawks were #1 in points allowed (they allowed 3 points fewer than the Texans) but were 6th in yards allowed. They sure as hell weren't the greatest of all time.

We mudsling around here from time to time and things can get heated. But I don't know what the hell is going on with that post. That to me reads like something you would see from one of the homers on Panthers reddit who might as well be employed by the Tepper's.

I mean I've been pretty honestly blunt about Jaycee Horn particularly given his contract extension. But to take a shot at him and make no mention of the #1 pick leading the offense to only 3 passing first downs 1-11 on third down an interception 2.3 yards per attempt and the longest completion of the game being 8 yards and acting as if the Panthers offense was ever truly in that game is beyond the pale. The only way one could come to that conclusion is if they are completely delusional or cognitively impaired.

My biggest problem with Bryce is his reluctance to throw deep. You have to take shots every game to keep defenses honest. Otherwise they just jump on the underneath stuff all day.

Now if I recall correctly he did take a deep shot to TMac in the Seattle game and he dropped it trying a one hand catch. No agenda. Just saying. Regardless, 54 yards passing in a game is pretty friggin abysmal! But you can't believe that's all on the QB. That's likely a failure in a lot of areas.

We all know what Jake was after the elbow surgery. It was bad. It was depressing. No debate there.

Let's get into the numbers.

Jake Delhomme as a Carolina Panther had 19,258 passing yards on 2,669 pass attempts. In comparison based on his current trajectory it would take Bryce Young roughly 3,295 pass attempts to exceed Delhomme's passing yards. That's 21 more games.

Steve Beuerlein as a Carolina Panther had 12,690 passing yards on 1,723 attempts. It would take Bryce 2,151 attempts to exceed Beurlein's passing yards. That's 15 more games.

We mortgaged the future and traded away talent in order to acquire Bryce for his abilities to be able to move the ball through the air. He is realistically marginally better than Jimmy Clausen production wise as a passer.

If Jake Delhomme was awful based on this set of standards by some Panthers fans then by that warped logic so was Beuerlein.

So under that strict criteria what specifically is Bryce Young??? 🤔

We don't like below average QB performance. The name of the QB is irrelevant.

See above.

The Panthers have had a very small number of truly productive QB's in franchise history.

All one needs to do is compare and contrast to get an understanding of just how historically downbad our passing offense has been the last 3 years. And why people are trying but struggling to hold out hope that it will just suddenly drastically change. I'd love to see it but...

My biggest issue is the footwork and that jump pass thing. He doesn't plant and throw on a consistent basis and you see it in his throws. Those jump balls have a lot of air under them giving defenders time to close and/or jump the route. I've heard him called out on it several times by commentators when watching games.

Yes because he is too short and weak, that's been the same number 1 issue from the combine where he refused to throw against actually physically talented qb's, and followed it up by an incredibly lackluster pro day
