guy legit had hall of fame talent.

guy should also have been put into a mental institution early on.

i mean he had a bit of a "not quite right in the head" reputation before he got here. it was passed off as "he's kind of an artist" so you'd look at him and think he's just complex. my wife and kids will bring me necklaces that are all knotted up and are pretty much impossible to untangle. they are impossible to untangle because they are complex knots. complex is sometimes code for a fuggin mess. that's hardy. a fuggin mess.

I remember, I think it was Damione Lewis, saying "When you first meet him, you think to yourself "He might be a little off". After you work with him, spend time with him and get to know him though, you say, "Yeah, he's a little off" 😕

Arrested for assaulting a family member. Thirty five years old and going no where fast. Could have been very special if he didn't have a screw loose. He was a beast for a couple of years and then done. Couldn't over come his demons and thug ways.

I think being crazy is why he was a 6th rounder.  He certainly had first or second round talent.  At that time, probably worth the gamble for us that he would turn out ok.  I wish it had worked out.  With him at defensive end, we might have beaten Denver.  Unfortunately for him, us and a few people he assaulted, he couldn't keep his head straight.

Those people are great assets, particularly when they're defensive players, as long as you can keep them contained. But they're crazy for a reason and they're seldom able to be contained for longer than, let's see, 4.1 seasons.

which is why he was a sixth rounder.  I think I recall seeing a mock where he was a first rounder--If my recollection is accurate, he fell like S. Sanders.

Durability concerns dominate his pre and post draft analysis there is one mention of him being suspended for a game but thats about it. The earliest he shows up in mocks from that year is round 4.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
