Oh it was bad and we had no depth so the injuries just crushed us. Eh we split with the other two bad teams in our division. Still beat the Cards, Raiders (who might have the worst roster), and NYG (who had a pretty bad roster). Our OL and RB were solid. Honestly our defense had no depth and a ton of injuries. Hopefully just being healthy can give them a nice boost. It can’t get much worse lol.

I would LOVE to have the talent that Oakland and NY(Giants) have. They were/are WAAAAAY better rosters.

I think we will finally crawl out of that "worst" spot this season, even as a massive sceptic.

We need it.

I have to disagree with you on this.  Outside of Nabors, there is not a single player on the Giants offense that I would want to start in place of our starters.  Their dline is decent, but the rest of the team is not good at all.

I might take Gano back.

There is a reason both of those teams drafted ahead of us, they needed to revamp their talent.

I mean, if you literally walk down the starters for that team versus ours, it's fuging embarrassing. Then when you get to the backups, it's WAY more obvious.

There is a reason we were largely regarded as the worst roster. It was very earned.

How many new starters will we have on defense?  That could be a good thing given how bad the D was last year, but it could also take some time for them to gel.

Good question.  Some are rotational, but my guess?  (New starters in Bold, key depth in blue)

Edge/OLB:  Wonnum, Scourton  (we might see Jones at first, but he would also be a new starter).  Key Rotational depth:  Princely

DT/NT:  Bobby Brown.  Key Rotational Depth:  Cam Jackson,Tuttle.

DE:  D. Brown, Wharton, Robinson, Ray (Man we need to cut Ray)

ILB:  Jewell, Wallace, Rozeboom, Cherelus

CB:  Jackson, Horn, Smith-Wade, Bartholomew, Evans.

S:  Moehrig, Ransom.  Key depth: Richardson, Scott (I am guessing Scott will lose his job to an UDFA)

My guess would be 5 on defense.

On Offense?  I see only Tet McMillan as a new starter, with M. Evans (TE), Horn (WR), and Etienne (RB) getting some looks in rotations.

Maybe on defense.

I honestly cannot take anyone serious who would trade the Giants offense for ours... what are we doing here??!!

Some of you people are delusionally pessimistic... this roster is nowhere as bad as some of you would like to imagine

It's amazing looking at boards like the Saints where they are huffing hopium despite a roster anyone from the outside knows is garbage.

We have posters acting like this is the worst roster of all time...

Well, this offense was 11th in points from Week 9 on, brought back our entire Oline, added Dowdle as a backup who had 1300+ yards, drafted McMillan & Horn, and are bringing back a QB with the 6th highest rating when he returned.

Of course defense is still a massive question, but we are bringing back a top 5 DT in additions to bringing in probably 5 new starters. Also, look at defensive variance by year. Very, very few teams stay bad (or good) on defense for extended periods of time like offense.

Anyone who wants to be negative is entitled to their view... this team has been bad for years.

But I've watched this team since Day 1. This roster headed into this season is much better than some people are willing to see.

Good debate. NOW I agree with you, but if you asked me last year at any time before November.... I think our defense was horrible, but the offensive skill positions, when compared to others last year, was equally weak.  WR?  AT should not (at his age) be your best WR.  XL struggled, and a UDFA was pulled up to salvage the WR room when Johnson left.  Our best TE was Tremble.  We had Hubbard, but behind him, Sanders sucked.  Our QB began the season (first 2 games) throwing for a COMBINED 245 yards with 3 interceptions and 6 sacks.  it was abysmal.  I mean, the souvenir shop started selling black nooses with the nike logo on the back and "Just do it" in small blue lettering.

I really like what Morgan is doing now.  He gets it.  His eye for defensive players is obvious (I think he has found a few eventual starters in the past 2 drafts in the third round and later:  Ramsom (4), Wallace (3), Princely (3), RIchardson (UDFA), and maybe even Cam Jackson (6).  To find 5 eventual starters for the defense in rounds 3-UDFA in 2 years is impressive.  That is how you build the roster.

Not to mention DB missed the entire season so he is technically a new starter this year vs last. By far our best defender and one of the best in the league.

I think it's just a matter of opinion.  For example CBS has the Pats as the worst team entering the 2024 season (yes we were number 2).  We were definitely bottom tier, but there can be an argument made for other crappy teams.  Especially the ones that finished behind us.  Hell people on here are literally arguing about it.

The roster is a lot better this year than last year IMO.  Especially on defense.  That said, it is still a very talent deficient roster on paper and understand why people say it is at or near the bottom.  This team desperately needs to draft better and develop players.  One thing I am anxious to see is if some of the 2nd year players take the next step.

There was promise last year with some contributors in Wallace, Smith-Wade, and Richardson on defense but with it being a historically bad defense it is hard to get a read on how good these guys are or can be.  On offense I like XL but think he needs to buy a Jugs Machine instead of a horse and work on the drops. It would also be nice to see Coker take the next step forward.
