True but he wouldn't be the first physical C that falls off in his early 30's.  Look at David Backes.  https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/b/backeda01.html

If he followed a similar regression.... which he has higher numbers than him to begin with.....

He'd still be worth the 6.5 at 36  keep in mind the cap is jumping a lot between now and then

Makes sense.  Risk doesn't seem high as a pure salary dump, but it feels like maybe Las Vegas is stepping back from the ledge.

I wouldn't mind giving up a pick or something but I'd hate to see someone like Blake going the other way to make it happen.

It's definitely a cap dump we have plenty of lower quality prospects to trade them without giving up a Blake,Nadaeu or FUS

2C has been our biggest hole since Trockek walked.....

I think a Hertl is far more impact full for us than marner....  we have a ton of talented young wings Blake probably becomes a 25-30 goal guy this year and I'm pretty sure Nadeau breaks into the lineup (and his offensive ceiling is higher than Blake')  not having a legit 2C has made us basically a one line team when it comes to offense.

2C and 1RHD Id like filled this month and leave space for moves at the deadline

Ehhh we need a top pair RHD hes more of a 2 or 3

I get that, but not a lot of UFA top RHDs out there, unless you want to give Eckblad $9-10M. Matter of fact, Eckblad may be the only top line D-man who's unrestricted.

Better look for a trade somewhere.

If they don't pursue and get Ekblad I'd be shocked if it isnt addressed via trade because of the draft capital/space we have.

    • You’re playing madden we’re talking real football stuff…. He does have you seen his special on internet he def thinks he’s getting paid
    • Without the team having an identity kinda hard to predict what they value.  They either are really trying to build a balanced team, or preparing for another swing at qb if Bryce doesn’t pan out. Seems like we value the o line but the $ spent there has been underwhelming besides Lewis, you could say it’s because of injuries but still hasn’t been worth the investment. as already stated, the whole handling of Bryce young as a whole has been ass backwards, we spent the years we’re supposed to take advantage of having a qb with a lower cap hit, building the team up to be adequate. now It appears, key word appears, the saints have done it correctly, which is painful to even think about. Regardless, I hope the front office has paid attention to qb contracts recently, such as Tua, Kyler, Daniel jones(pre colts) and don’t settle for subpar qb play at franchise qb rates
    • This is the flaw in your logic.  Cutting 3 of our best players will somehow move us from whatever we are to "compete". Even the most Young super fans are not predicting a ceiling above top 10-12, and that will not nearly cut it.  Someone will need to break the log jam of QBs getting nothing or North of 50. Our qb is at best a middle ground, lets hope it will be us that also manage to pay the worth at about 100 over 3 years.  And before you jump me, yes that is only of he improves.
