Surprise! Kon looks really bad!

We shouldn't "want" to trade LaMelo. It's basically in his hands. My view of the situation is the Hornets are basically letting LaMelo control his own destiny this season. He will either dial in and do everything he needs to do in order to stay on the basketball court and help this team compete for the playoffs. Or he will run it back with the same old same old and they will give the young guys the keys.

Lamelo is a superstar and the face of the franchise.  No way am I trading him

410 possible games, he's played 231 of 'em. 56% of his games.

Won rookie of the year, but he's been surpassed by the two guys he beat out.

Never been All-Anything but rookie team.

He's a name because of the internet, but superstar? I mean, he's barely a star. Top 50 player for sure, but that's about it right now.

I wish I could disagree. But seeing the way his family carries themselves translating over to him over these years I have a hard time seeing LaMelo turning a full 180 this season and becoming a focused and resilient basketball player locked in on leading this team to the playoffs.

His brother LiAngelo flamed out of the G League and is now an aspiring rapper and honestly looks like a complete clown. Doesn't bode well for LaMelo.

I think the family has calmed down (they had to, obviously), and Lavar has done the 180 and disappeared enough. But...I think it messed LaMelo up in the worst way of all the kids, as it would anybody. He was a high school/internet superstar before doing anything. He was a kid celebrity essentially who thought he had already made it.

I think LaMelo's basketball brain is absolutely unique and special. But the injuries, the family dynamic, the fame, and frankly being on bad teams for years has ruined him as a basketball player IMO. I hope he does go on to be a star because he's one of the most exciting players in the world to watch when he's rolling...I just don't think he's ever living up to that.

Best case for the Hornets future, and his, is to trade him to a contender. He's your 2nd or 3rd best player on a good team, and a good vet star being "above" him would do wonders for him I think.

I do agree he has a quality basketball IQ. He also has the prerequisite talent in spades. The issue is and you can see this with his brother Lonzo. They just aren't motivated to get on the court. It's not that they don't play hard or that they aren't competitive. They just don't seem to have much if any drive to get to the mountain top which is a playoff run and competing for a championship. Just the experience of playing and making a boatload of money seems to be enough. That's never going to be a player you can build around. Like you say that's your second or third best player on a playoff team. But not the singular core guy everyone else looks to.

Im not ready to admit I was wrong, but he's 10x better than I thought at this early stage. He's red hot form 3 and FG in general.

ALL the rookies minus McNeeley have been GREAT. I thought Sion James would be a non-factor and send down very soon at start, he's already worth NBA mins.

The big man is Kalkbrenner is surprise starter and he looks like he can handle 25 mins each game.

The feel is different for this class. Kon included

24 points for Kon against the Jazz in a blowout win. Ace Bailey got himself a poster dunk but that was pretty much it.

Credit due to Miles Bridges he's bounced back in a big way we need consistency from veterans like him.

    • Every NFC team that we needed to lose today won
    • That's a good point.
    • I actually had some extra money and decided to do something I've never done before...I put 100$ on the panthers.  If I lose, eh whatever, but the absolute complete disrespect is just kinda surprising.  Things to consider. Panthers have won their last 3 road games After an abysmal start on the road, the panthers have won the last 3, granted game 1 was against the Jets, but the other 2 were solid road victories, one being the Packers and one being the Falcons and while some may dismiss Atlanta due to the record, that was their legit final gasp at life and a loss essentially killed their season and putting a team away in a make or break game is always difficult. The 9ers havent been great at home The 9ers are 7-4 on the season but even with that record they are 5-2 on the road and only 2-2 at home and even that is kind of missing the home road split more.  They beat a rough atlanta team at home 20-10 and a 1 point win against a pretty bad cardinal team (yes I know we lost to them). Stopping making 49ers 1 Dimensional I think we're all aware of the weaknessess the panthers have how we are potentially to be exposed by Kittle and CMC.  those are VERY viable critiques.  However, thats in the passing game, but the 9ers are 6th worst at running the ball, they arent a great team between the tackles, and as such our front should be able to stop that middle of the field and make everything go outside which is where having Moerig in a Buffalo Nickel will help.   Before people poo on me, Im not all sunshine pumping, I VERY WELL could see us lose this game, and maybe even get embarrassed, HOWEVER there is a lot to like about our potential.  For playoffs this game has a ton of meaning and You have to know the team knows that, a loss hear loses a tie breaker with a team potentially for the last spot.  They will be focused and I didnt even mention the homecoming of sorts for Bryce and Tmac who are gonna wanna show out back in Cali. Summation, panthers win 30-24
