Carolina is in desperate need of pass rush juice, and while parting with Derrick Brown may seem costly, the trade would be well worth it. For Dallas, the deal makes a lot of sense, as they’ve struggled for years to find a true run stuffer, and Brown would immediately fill that void. On the Panthers' side, the move signals a clear commitment to prioritizing quarterback pressure. In addition, it is typically easier to find an elite run defender than it is to find an elite pass rusher.

I would not like this move at all.  I feel Brown is severely underrated here.  He still shows up and gets the job done.  Bringing on double and even triple teams.  Our defense was deplorable last year.  Brown missing was a large part of that.

I don't like Parsons fit as far as attitude or compensation.  Brown has been a favorite player of mine in his time here and has given me no reason to think otherwise.

Compensation, sure. But attitude? I don’t recall ever hearing anything at all negative about him… unless you’re counting him asking to be paid.

Trading a productive locker room leader who wants to be here for a guy who is currently a malcontent in Dallas sounds like a recipe for a shitshow I agree.

Malcontent? I hope you're only talking about with the FO, because teammates are on Micah's side according to Ian Rappaport. Parsons is highly productive (arguably the best in the NFL), and he is a locker room leader.

I can understand the rationale of not wanting to pay him, but painting him as some kind of troublemaker and bad teammate doesn't pass muster

I was chatting with a buddy of mine and we both had the same perception of Parsons unprompted.  I don't know how the idea got there, as I largely only focus on Panthers content.

A quick Goog as we say seems to back that perception up, though.

"Candid and emotional, public spats, and internal friction." Were listed.  Brown has been pretty much perfect in his time here in my eyes.

Tepper isn't the GM.

This is about contractual negotiations and the Cowboys playing the public game and not having any discussions with Micah's agent. Micah is a top player in the NFL (some have said the best at times), and players of his caliber are going to be paid. They're also going to be respected. Dude is only 25 years old and won't suffer from a lack of suitors. I'm sure we're calling, as it would be managerial malfeasance not to.

Problem with that trade is we now have nobody to stop the run and we run into the same problem as last year - teams will just run the ball every down and never pass.

Not sure Dallas would take it anyway with the injury DB had last year. They would want to see how he looks this year before making that trade

      Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.

      Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins

      I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
