I mean at the end of the day it didn’t have to be that dire. Nobody put a gun to our head and forced us to trade DJ Moore.

No diss to DJ, but even with him, I feel our room is much more talented right now.

He wasn't making or breaking us as talented as he is.  He also can't do it all.  I don't think he was happy here, either, after Curtis left.  Something changed.

I don't think anyone who is not associated with the team can say whether or not he was happy being here. All we had were rumors about his personal life.

Regardless. He is still 4th on our all time franchise receiving yards behind only Greg Olsen. So while folks are free to diminish that we still need to see these younger WR's take the reigns and exceed his numbers here.

Moore has been on 7 consecutive losing teams. Its not like he's making much difference.

I only watch Panthers ball, so correct me if I am wrong, but he hasn't been setting the world on fire since leaving either.  He is 20th on the rankings from a quick Goog.

I know he was talented, but he never struck me as having that "dawg" as we like to say.

I hope the young room we have totally change the landscape of our view at WR.

My guy. We shipped him off to the Bears. Yeah it's gonna be tough to win in Chicago.

As for our Panthers. I mean we've had many great players here that have lost a lot. Does that diminish them too?

He was 6th in receiving yards in the entire league the year we traded him.

I don't know why you guys are making me defend this dude lol I still have PTSD from him and the Bears absolutely dragging our defense up and down the field last season. I mean it should be a forgone conclusion that the guy can play regardless of how we feel about him and want to justify the trade.

I don't think there were many happy players on those Panthers teams.

We aren't making you defend him lol

I just view him in a different tier than you do, I feel.  He ain't that guy.

You would have preferred us keep him and stay on the trajectory we were on?  It was a necessary evil in the situation.  We are better today.  (on paper)

Shoot... I'd have taken that 2024 Bears WR room: DJ Moore, Keenan Allen, Rome Odunze, Deandre Carter, Tyler Scott, Collin Johnson, and Velus Jones Jr (who funny enough, would end up on the Panthers' roster).

Meanwhile, the Panthers had just started the WR room rebuild would end up marching out Diontae Johnson, Adam Thielen, Jonathan Mingo, Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, Deven Thompkins, David Moore, and Dan Chisena.

Going from Diontae, Mingo, Thompkins, and Chisena to TMac, Horn Jr, and Renfrow is a dub imo.

Diontae and Mingo. There was so much hope with those 2 and Marshall. We really thought we had a receiving room. Hopefully this one turns out better. Still think we're a year away with them. Same room. Just another year of development.

Oh for sure. I'm expecting improvements from XL this season while TMac finds his footing. I'm almost giddy thinking of how 2026 is going to look if the team continues building off of the second half of last season.
