It really just shows the lack of scouting ability by the Front Office. There are plenty of 3rd teamers better than this that aren't even signed right now. 

At this point, I think the Panthers don't want Bryce to feel any sense of competition for his job. That's the only thing I can think of. That really just shows how Bryce is, in my opinion. If he was Mahomes-lite, or Burrows, or whomever, you could bring in almost anyone and it wouldn't matter. It really seems like they are trying to protect him.
