Both of those are what I am deathly afraid of.

I am very concerned they are going to sell out the next 2-3 years for one guy.

The David Tepper way. We've constantly acted like we're just that one guy away from taking the league by storm and establishing a dynasty. It's baffling.

This isn't basketball. Outside of an MVP caliber QB, one player's impact is limited. Even then, if the rest of your roster isn't at least decent, even an MVP caliber QB's impact is relatively limited in terms of overall team success and W-L record. We saw it plenty of seasons with Cam. We're seeing it with Burrow in Cincy.

We've been daring to be great ever since Tepper bought the team just trying to skip that whole rebuilding process. We're always just one giant splash move away from being great... except we absolutely are not.

We'll cut Cam and bring in Teddy Bridgewater. Oops, make that Sam Darnold. Oh, well... Baker Mayfield.

We'll fire Ron and bring in this college hot shot who has never beaten a ranked team in his entire career. Okay, that didn't work let's go the retread route. Oh good lord, what a disaster. Okay, this interim did okay but we can do better. How about the guy that made our last QB wash out look serviceable?

We'll mortgage the future of the franchise to draft this QB that looks like the kid the locals are really excited about who should be able to do big things on the varsity squad next year after running the JV team for a year to get his feet wet.

micah or Trey?

Because the Bengals defense was ass last year with him, I dont think he is making any team, much less ours "great".

Micah is a different beast for sure but if reports are true there is already a deal with 2 firsts out there for him.   And if Morgan trades 2 first for Parsons................

Historically speaking, they sure seem less capable than many DIII programs. I really don't understand when Panthers fans pretend like this has been a competent organization. We've lost more games than any other team since Tepper bought this franchise. That's just the reality of the situation.

I'm not aware of any DIII programs that have any linemen in their 30s so I dont think thats the case 🤣

    • Yeah they were bad QBs - but QB's that stayed on their teams for several years.  BY is better than all of those.
    • This is the right move even if you think Bryce isn't the future. Everything except signing him to a long term deal until proven otherwise. There's a decent chance we have a shot to draft a QB next year that we like.
    • If we're still bad enough that Canales gets fired, especially if it's during the season, there is no way we could ever attract any HC worthy of the job if we told them they had to keep Bryce their first year. That would be 2 coaches he's gotten fired and 4 years of not performing up to par. I still say replace both of them next offseason.  I like Canales the man and I think he's done an absolutely outstanding job at fixing our locker room issues, as it was really bad before he showed up.  But I just don't see it from him with his in game decision making, I think he's held us back just as much as Bryce has, just in different ways. Canales was our Dan Campbell, the coach you hire to turn the franchises culture around for the HC after them to inherit and take to the next level.   The difference was he had some elite coordinators early on and really let him focus on his "leader of men" role as opposed to the X's and O's that Canales does himself and it's turned out well for him.
