You could literally, put them in a full body suit and not be able to tell which one is which running routes.

Thielen just has better hands.

Strong disagree on this take.   They both serve the same role.  But how they run their routes and go about getting there ain’t the same.    Renfrow runs some of the most distinct routes in all the NFL….its necessary for him because of his size issues.

Renfrow couldn’t make a rec league if did everything like AT out there with worse hands.  They arent similar route runners.  They do try to achieve the same outcome for their teams though

I’d let AT make the decision if he wants to go or not.  He’s earned it.  We don’t need to make the trade, but he also doesn’t have much tread left on the tires…  it could give us assets while allowing him to possibly compete for more in his final year or two.  Let him decide.

i was about five rows back in the corner end zone last season @atlanta

Thielen runs the offense. He signals to bryce about coverages after presnap motions, and multiple times was showing other players where to get set.

They're not going to trade him. After seeing it live, he's probably the most important part of the passing offense, as it is.

He's from Minnesota, his wife is from Minnesota, his family is in Minnesota, pretty sure his primary residence is still in Minnesota. I think I already know the answer to this, but yeah, I agree that I would put it to him like in large part because I'm 99% sure I already know the answer.

If your 3rd year QB still needs a WR to run the offense pre-snap you're already fuged. If this is the case, then I think we NEED to move Thielen because we need to see if Bryce can do it.

I've seen that it's pretty much done and the compensation is a 3rd day draft pick. Canales is safe, it's put up or shut up time for BY.

i haven't seen that anywhere, but if its true it makes me think of what (former panthers offensive lineman with a radio show name escapes me) said last season that he doesn't think Canales likes Bryce and wants him gone.

the offense was atrocious last season without Thielen. I think that was far more about him being out than Andy being in.

Welp, if it’s done, then we just pulled the pin.  Good.

It’s like everyone forgets, Canales got Tepper to green light ending the Bryce Young experiment just 2 games into the season.  THAT happened.  And I still say all the investments on O have been one that doesn’t factor in Young.

Bryce’s rise from the literal grave….wasn’t planned or the vision IMO.  Bryce IMO fugged up the plan.   Now we are in no man’s land

    • Just as we won those close games we could have just as easily lost them. So the jury is out on if we were more lucky than good ( see the sweep by the saints) Were moving forward on paper. And how badly dont we all want to see us back to at least Above average form. Its about time.
    • If you're looking for a pat on the back it sounds good in theory until you realize they also had the 2023 Panthers as the top draft class.
    • Going into the 2003 and 2015 seasons we were supposed to be the joke of the league each time. In 2003, John Fox was supposed to still be in rebuild mode. We had a guy named Peppers on the defensive line who was supposed to be pretty good. We had Rodney Peete as our starting QB and a line that was a lot of hope and not much experience. Our new running back was a guy the Redskins, errrr Commanders, had jettisoned for being too old. We had a good kicker and writers thought that was needed because there were going to be more field goals than touch downs. Heck, it looked like they were right up until just before halftime of that first game when we had to yank Rodney Peete and put in some Cajun duded whose name couldn't be pronounced. And Steve Smith? He wasn't Smitty yet. Moose Muhammad, well, he was close to being written off as a bust. You know how that turned out. And then in 2015, we had Cam Newton, who was electrifying to watch but hadn't really won anything yet. There was an offensive line in front of him that looked like it was made in a defunct Swiss cheese factory and our big hope on offense was the great Kelvin Benjamin. And then he got taken out for the year with a knee injury in training camp. Ted "Feet of Lightning, Hands of Stone" Ginn became our default go to guy beside our next best hope, yeah, Devin Funchess. Our defense was pretty good, a scrappy bunch with frikkin' awesome linebacker play and a cornerback who had done more than drank the Kool-Aid, but had snorted the powder. He played like a superhero and became sort of a bat-man during the season. By the Super Bowl he had completely lost his freaking mind, though, and managed to talk his way out of a contract with the team next year. No one was expecting us to win the NFCSouth that season, much less almost go undefeated and into the Super Bowl. So, 2026? Who knows? But our best seasons came when no one had a reason to believe in us, except us.
