What? He was even worse in his 2nd start. He was ass for the majority of the game in his debut but got his act together and played well late as the Bears fell apart. He was 11/21 for 185 yards 0 TDs and 2 INTs against the Falcons that we just beat 30-0 in his second start. With McCarthy out with injury the washed up ghost of Carson Wentz hung 48 on the Bengals.

my bad, I reversed the games when I read it.  I was referring to the win.  The first game.

if you apply the BY curve, the 1st game was a good game.

Like when is the Huddle (collectively) gonna acknowledge that? I want BY to succeed because he's Carolina's QB, but I am NOT a BY supporter (in a vacuum). I didn't even want them to move up for a QB in 2023. I knew the team wasn't ready for a rookie QB, and that was with DJ Moore.

Roger, he played at Alabama with really good college talent. But the level of his college WRs compared to every WR this team has marched out there not named TMac is ridiculously sad! He had about 4 WRs from college that would be the #1 WR since coming to Carolina. Adam Thielen is your best option?! WTAF! And you're digging on the kid because he isn't putting up numbers? Just doesn't make sense to me. And coming into this season saying he had no excuses? That didn't age well. Not one bit.

I think people have been pretty understanding with Young considering how bad the supporting cast has been. The understanding stops when he cant physically make NFL throws. Was it the WRs fault that Young had to be pulled for a Hail Mary attempt because he cant throw from the 50 to the end zone? He is the most limited NFL QB I can think of, especially for a #1 overall pick.

I would not advocate for the Bryce scale to be used for grading QB performance. LOL

Here's the truth. This ain't college and it damn sure ain't Bama thats got a much better talent pool than almost anyone they played against by far other than Georgia. Players don't make the transition from college to the NFL all the time. All teams have QB issues. Certain coaches can spot QB talent like Andy Reid but those are extremely rare and a unicorn as much as a Tom Brady is.

They do when they have adequate talent around them.

Don't want to say that Thielen has basically checked out but jumping to another team right before the season starts, and you're working with a young QB who is effectively a rookie by not playing a whole season, and you're 100% retiring when the season is over?

Of course he would've been far more productive with us because he had spent the entire offseason thinking he'd play here.

So you really think he can't throw to the endzone from the 50? I'm not saying he has the strongest arm in the NFL, but he has more than enough arm to make all the on schedule throws. Now, I agree he ain't gonna be throwing across his body 45 yards down the field. He ain't that.

Outside of Jameson Williams who are these super pass catchers he had at Bama? His season at Bama is starting to look a bit more impressive as time goes on

Metchie, Burton, Brooks, Latu, Bond, Prentice, Bolden are the only guys I can think of. None of them are doing anything now.

Finding a true TE1 or WR2 to go along with TMac to finally give Bryce 2 options in a single season needs to be a priority like yesterday

I am not arguing with you that he didn't have world class WRs at Bama, but my statement stands. They still would have been much better than anything Carolina has put out there not name Tmac.

I don't know how he's won any games since he can't make NFL throws.   Maybe that's why he has as many running TD's as he's gotten.

Bryce theoretically could make that throw but he would need a great pocket from which to do it in because he would need to put his entire body into it. Which is what people have been saying about his lack of physical tools working against him. Which is why they brought Andy out to attempt a hail mary. I mean I have to be honest. The fact that anyone is even trying to downplay the significance of that is pitiful and shows how far we’ve fallen as a fanbase.

if you give good QBs, an OL and run game.....they make WRs.  I mean, there is a long list of that occurring over and over and over.  Again.  Check the sales pitch for why we drafted Bryce.  That was the salespitch because it is a reality.  He just isn't it.  Sure, you want to give every QB a crazy weapon.  But most good QBs go through windows with meh talent and they aren't bottom barrel offenses because of the QB.

Honestly, who is on this long list of current QBs that have done more with worse receiving targets? Even Mahomes had the best TE in the league his entire career. And started out with the friggin Cheetah!

Bryce does enough to make himself look bad, we don't need to be making up stuff.

So who's throwing a 60 yards hail mary from a dirty pocket? You getting real carried away right now. Every NFL QB isn't Superman (Cam Newton).
