The panthers are on par with those two franchises, and you think Bryce won’t get another shot if let go???? Lol We got trade offers for him last year when he was legit playing horrible.

Darnold wasn’t even that good in that 3-0 start it was a lot of running the ball , Brady play calling and the defense playing lights out. I think our defense was giving up like 10 ppg those 3 games and with a bunch of turnovers and we still couldn’t crack 30 points, something Bryce did more than Darnold and Baker.

If I may, I have a question:

When Dalton came in, In the week three games of 2023 and 2024, did you notice the offense looking a little different?
Same players around him as Bryce had.

Your move.

I was going to make a thread on this, but may as well stick it in here. About Bryce ...

WHY CAN'T IT BE BOTH?

2/3 of this board thinks he's garbage and thinks a better QB could at least get us to 8 or 9 wins. They think Dave is decent enough, and the parts around Bryce are decent enough.

1/3 of this board thinks Bryce is him. They think it's Dave, the lack of WRs, the crap O-line, etc. that are making Young look like a bust. They think if Bryce had the perfect set up ... he'd lead us to the Playoffs.

But yeah ... my bolded part up there. Is it at all possible that ...

1) Bryce Young sucks

2) The parts around him suck

Why are we putting blame on certain spots? IT'S ALL HOT GARBAGE (outside of Chuba and Tmac). The sooner you realize that, the sooner this bickering board can move on with its life lol.

Yep Dalton played great in those first two games against bottom tier defenses. Then it got worse and worse, he played one of the worse games of his career vs Washington and got boat raced by a backup QB. So what’s your point? Bryce was legit horrible in those two first weeks last year missing guys left and right and deserved to be benched, this year not so much.

Open WRs are open WRs.  And they have existed every single game this season and BY doesn’t or can’t make the throws

and we have seen worse on top of that.  They just had better QB play

Right i see wr’s getting open regularly. It’s hard to blame the receivers when 2/3s of the throws I see are him sailing the ball 3 feet over or  5 yards short into the turf. Man it’s hard to watch

Literally every bad QB gets picked up somewhere to be on a roster.  But given Bryce doesn’t have the tools or flashes….he is going to be more the Josh Rosen path than Sam Darnold

* Sam threw for 300+ in the 3 of the 4 games to open that season at like 67%.   The non-300 yard day was 279 in the air.   Bryce has never sniffed that level of offensive production in any window of his career if you could cherry a random 4 games and put them together.   So if Sam wasn’t even good then….you are making the case BY is compete garbage for me.  You have had too many Sunday beers boss

So you didn’t see the game looking like an NFL quarterback was in charge of it? With the throws downfield and I don’t mean in the sense of 20 yards is a deep ball. I mean a pre fantasy football scoring system deep ball that has been a staple of NFL offenses since the 1960s.

You didn’t immediately see the contrast in arm strength and what that allowed in terms of play calling?

That is what I was going for. Not what you were able to cobble together as a defense via your Bryce fanboy or fangirl filter that you obviously have activated.
Sorry, that was your chance to prove you are able to distinguish between fantasy and reality. And you did not take it.

Now you are using passing yards for a barometer of success lol. It easy to rack up yards when you have Mccaffrey and DJ getting a bunch of yac for you. Why not use TD and passer rating? Of cause that doesn’t suit your narrative

In that seven game stretch since the bye we averaged 22 ppg and Bryce had 16 TD, never has Darnold done that in Carolina. With a much better supporting  cast.

I do wonder how much better it’ll look with a different QB in there. I think Bryce drags everyone down, then the supporting cast around him isn’t good enough to pick up any of the slack so it becomes a cluster real quick.

I think as soon as he sh%ts the bed, the whole offense seizes up and loses all motivation.

Yep, same.

I always referenced Aaron Rodgers who played Newton in his rookie year. He said "I'm glad I got to play him now and not later".

He saw the unreal potential too - and sadly Newton never got better.

By the time, Newton was fixing his throwing mechanics (2018) his shoulder was shot mostly and it got taken out by the Steelers the rest of the way.

I forgot about Darnold having such an expensive OL in front of him. I just remember Greg Little, John Miller, and Michael Jordan getting him put in the turf.

But yeah maybe Bryce just needs Ian Thomas, Robby Anderson, and Brandon Zylstra.
